Visited Castleberry Ale House last night with a couple of friends. The bartended greeted me and was friendly. Once I was seated, I asked if they could turn down the fans which were all around the room and on as high speed as they could be. The bartender mumbled I'll see what I can do. When the waitress came over I asked tour if there was something they could do about the fans. She said unfortunately, no. The fans are on one circuit and if we turn off the fans then the kitchen has no ventilation or air circulation. Every table that walked by our table as they were leaving commented on how cold it was. What irritated me most is that the bartender point blank lied to me and dismissed me as if the issue was not of any importance. The service was great. The food was mediocre. My friends both had fish and both of them were way too dry - one of them couldn't even eat it. They did say the mashed potatoes were the best they ever had in their life, though. My friends really liked the wings. The salad is simply chopped up iceberg lettuce and chopped up in such small pieces you can't get them on your fork. Large menu and decent pricing. None of us will be going back because it was such an unpleasant experience to be unable to get away from the constant wind in our faces. All they need to do is hire an electrician to put the front room fans on a different circuit than the...
Read moreThe only reason to go to this "restaurant" is to get hammered. Today I tried the firecracker shrimp and a bowl of french onion soup. The shrimp was quite delicious, but the soup was atrocious. Not a big deal- but the bread was stale and the broth was flavorless save the immense amount of salt added. The elderly female manager came to the table to deliver her version of an "apology" where she so tactfully initiated the encounter with "what was wrong with the soup?" And after telling her my complaint and apologizing for being "that guy", she proceeded to apologize that I didn't know what French onion soup is supposed to taste like. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years as both a manager and a server. I could not fathom speaking to a guest the way this elderly lady spoke to me. One of the girls in my party even heard her talking negatively about our table to one of the chefs when she went to use the restroom. To top it all off, they still charged me for the soup that I took two bites of!! Absolutely ridiculous, and completely unprofessional. This is the perfect place for you if you want obviously drunk bartenders to pour you shots until 2AM. If you're looking for a dining experience or competent management-...
Read moreDespite my awesome waitress and bar tender. I Would say that was the worst bar experience I have ever had. Let me start off by telling you how bad my sandwich was. I could have made something better In my kitchen. Second the district manager cussed me out when my sandal strap broke and I took them off. He literally cussed me out in front of the entire restaurant because I took my shoes off keep in mind I spent 200 dollars. God knows the place smells and looks like a barn anyways. I told him to calm down I would put them back on and my friend touch his arm to tell him to calm down and he threatened to hit her? So basically the district manager should look into getting a new job not dealing with people. I've worked in food for four years and I have never experienced such a ridiculous outburst of anger. I will never waste my time or money in that establishment again. And you...
