I ate here two weeks ago with my family, and it was fine. I’m vegan and had to ask a lot of questions to figure out what to order. The waitress told me none of the Thai dishes are vegan as they use either fish or chicken broth in every one of them. She worked with me and told me I could order the sesame tofu lunch special and get the miso soup and steamed rice as a substitute since the other soups and the fried rice contain animal products. I had a good meal. Today I returned with my family to order the exact same thing, but this time I was told by the same waitress that I was not allowed to have any substitutions whatsoever because her manager got mad at her last time since she made an exception for me. It’s unprofessional that she not only admitted that to me without any kind of apology, but also that she offered no other solution. I explained again that I’m vegan and eat no animal products so I need accommodations, but she was not willing to serve me. I even asked if I could just have two spring rolls instead of the soup. She said no. I asked if they could add some vegetables to the tofu in place of the soup. She said no. She kept telling me I could just give the soup to my mom, but she was missing the point. I told her it isn’t fair that I would pay the same amount as everyone else but not be able to enjoy the full meal. And besides that, she wouldn’t let me substitute the rice anyway. I told her she set the expectation last time I was there and the restaurant was willing to be accommodating just two weeks before, and that’s the only reason my family and I returned today. I told her it’s 2022 and there are plenty of people with different dietary restrictions. I don’t know why they would even list a tofu dish on the menu only to make it impossible for anyone vegan to make substitutions so they can order that dish. I feel bad that my family was looking forward to their meals and then they had to leave since the restaurant refused to accommodate me. I find it ridiculous that Pacific Spice would rather send an entire family out the door and lose all their business than just make two changes for me and serve plain white rice and a bowl of seasoned water with three tiny tofu cubes in it. I wasn’t asking for any kind of premium substitution. It makes no sense. I was shown today that this restaurant values their own convenience more than they value the business of people like me. I think this restaurant is incredibly unfair and selfish. They do not care to serve anyone with different dietary needs, and they should be ashamed and embarrassed at the lack of empathy they...
Read moreJACKPOT I'm going to be honest, the name of this GEM, through me off. It kinda sounded tacky, however its actually very fitting once you understand the spectrum of culture they offer through their entrees. I figured since they were only half a mile from my house, and loving curry, and Thai foods that after 3 months of living here I should try it. And my oh my, I cannot believe how blessed I am. I went with my girlfriend, once through the doors I was immediately shook with how cool and unique the atmosphere was. They have some really neat decor, including water art and some custom metal works. I wasn't going to let this throw off my skepticism tho, I'm pretty critical, and some call me pessimistic, but im just thorough we are here for food, so lets see how their food is. Upon walking in, we were greeted instantly by a friendly hostess who then sat us down. Our waitress, who apparently was the only waitress on the floor it seemed was sprinting around rather hectically. I feared it would take a while to get our food, but she was rather quick. Her attitude matched her appearance, she was fast, and hype, with spiky glittery hair, which normally I would cringe at, but she made it work. She had our drinks out within minutes, and our meal order placed within 10. I ordered the Beef Massaman Curry and My Girlfriend got the house fried rice with shrimp, chicken and beef. Both were excellent, And great portion sizes for the price. I eat a lo, and we just got done hiking, and I couldn't finish it. My girlfriend stretched hers out into 3 separate meals to give you an idea. She loved hers as well, rated it a 8/10. Mine id give it a 9/10. I would give it a 10/10 if my meal had came out at the same time as hers, but sadly, mine took about ten minutes longer to reach the table. Which was agonizing. That's a cool fault though, not a servers fault. But to top all this off, I only had enough beef left over for maybe a 500 calorie lunch and upon boxing it up, our server came out with a scoop of white rice that we all know would've just been thrown out since they were closing soon and popped it in my box! I now had a full blown proper Carb/protein ratio. Such a simple and cheap thing to do, but wow, did it make my day, and fuel this review. I love this place. I cannot believe I live right next door. I will be back as often as my bank...
Read moreLet's begin with the good; The food is amazing! I love their sushi as well as Chinese cuisine. No complaints there.
The service is crap. If everything goes well there is no problem. Yes the lady on the phone when you call is short with you but I have found that is a norm when ordering Chinese food. So no problem. But the first issue I had, my card declined and she kept running it! I asked her to hold off while I checked my account (if you run a card more then 2 or 3 times my bank automatically declines it) Money was there but it declined. She was VERY upset when I told her I didn't have cash and kept insisting I should have another card. This was in front of other customers so it was quite embarrassing. I would have just walked to publix and gotten cash, but thankfully I was with a co-worker who paid. Second issue, I was unable to leave my office .3 miles away from this restaurant, so I ordered for delivery. My order was wrong so I called and asked if they would remake it. She told me I ordered what I got, that I was wrong, and if I came back they would remake my order........ So I spent extra money for the delivery, just to have to go back to listen to this woman talk down to me and tell me I was wrong when I got to the store. No apology, just a next time make sure you say combo A.
I worked in the food industry for many many years and if someone spoke to a customer like that they would be in deep. I'm disappointed. And I will...
