We were super excited to have a dedicated sushi place close to us in the Falls. Unfortunately, Ichiban disappointed us.
I tried the 3 spicy roll combo (crab, salmon, tuna). The rolls were basically indiscernable from each other at a glance, and at a closer inspection definitely had small minced pieces of each fish in them, but I believe the bulk of the rolls was some sort of "spicy salad" mix, and gave the rolls a mushy texture.
The side salad was a typical sushi side salad, iceberg, some cucumber and a cherry tomato. Unfortunately they cut corners and use the pre-bagged salad mix that has the little carrot and purple cabbage slivers in it. You can definitely tell it's not fresh cut lettuce, it lacks the crisp and moisture that fresh cut has.
The yakisoba noodles were just okay, nothing to write home about here either.
The hibachi was edible, but again, lacked seasoning and flavor.
The fried oreos were not the dredge battered fair treat I expected, but rather panko breaded fried oreos. The panko flavor does not work well with the oreos, we didn't even finish one each.
Stick with Hibachi Japan down the road for sushi or hibachi (honestly, Market District sushi rolls are better than what we had today) or make the drive to Fairlawn for Sakura for a much much better experience for a very...
Read moreFor the price of the food I expected exceptional but got good food. Dining area is small which was ok but I felt the dining area could have been a bit cleaner. I ordered the hibachi chicken and shrimp and got one peace of shrimp. Because I track my portion sizes regularly I can kind of visualize 8 oz of chicken and that's about what I got. Sorry I don't have images of the food. My meal came with fried rice and veggies. The food had good flavor.
Bathroom report: No bathroom report because I was with family and we headed out as soon as we were done.
Service: My food came out before any of my families orders. By the time their food came out my food was cold. That's my fault because I didn't feel right eating when everyone else was waiting on their food. They are service dog friendly but our server was afraid of dogs so he stayed away from my end of the table but was still a very good server. He did not speak very good English so my brothers order was incorrect. My brother was not willing to try correct the order because of the language barrier.
Conclusion: I would eat here again if the prices were more reasonable. The cost of my meal cost 20 dollars for a dinner portion and I received what I would expect a lunch...

This was my first order there. I’m aware that they’re the same owners as Chen’s. We do order from Chen’s often. Tonite I got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box. Ordered an extra “speciality “ sushi roll as well. To start off, I paid extra for fried rice and got white. They didn’t give you any soy sauce for the sushi. And it wasn’t cold. The sushi rice didn’t seem sticky at all——and like I said. It wasn’t cold in the least. Which makes me a little concerned. The chicken was real chicken breast. Cooked well. Good flavor. Tempura was good.
But the simple fact that neither of the rolls were cold has me a little freaked out. The speciality roll was $11 and absolutely not worth the money. For $27 I expected a little more. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be back but I do wish...
