A while back, my husband and I took Katella Avenue on both our trips to and from Disneyland, mainly to explore interesting restaurants along the way. Few months ago, we stumbled upon a fried chicken spot with a quirky name. After checking out the reviews (which were excellent), we decided to give it a try.
The owner of this fried chicken place seems to be run by Korean, and the vibe reminded me of those small neighborhood chicken places in Seoul.
We ordered half a chicken (5 pieces) for $14.99, which came with a small side of pickled radish. Although the wait was a bit long, the chicken was fried so well--super crispy and flavorful. We chose the Extra Sweet Spicy sauce, which the staff recommended. It was absolutely delicious and not spicy at all!
Surprisingly, they also serve fried rice (with bits of sausage!), and the price is incredibly reasonable. A small portion, which even comes with a side of teriyaki sauce, costs just $5.99. Honestly, that kind of pricing is hard to find in Southern California!
They also sell frozen fried chicken (perfect for reheating in an air fryer at home) and Jayone frozen kimbap for $3.99 each, the same price as local Korean supermarkets.
If you dine in, there's free soft-serve ice cream (you can refill it yourself, though the container is one of those small sauce cups). They also have a water dispenser for self-service and provide wet wipes, which is always a nice touch. The only downside? No restroom!
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely return for their fried chicken.

Read moreSmall fried chicken place. A variety of menus ranging from tenders to combos to wings to regular pieces of chicken. They also sell freeze-dried fried chicken and you can air fry it or oven bake it at home. Price seems reasonable. I purchased two flavors for 15 pieces which came out to be $25 and the sides with it came out to be 29 after tax. Sides I ordered was radish and coleslaw. Radish is free.
Order came out pretty quickly under 10 minutes. You want to dine in you can as well. I haven't eaten it yet for the fried chicken wings but from the smell it smells delicious. The two flavors I purchased were soy garlic and cheese garlic. Didn't request any spiciness.
The parking is limited. It's a little shopping area with multiple little shops in the plaza. Will update based on how it tastes.
Wonderful flavors, would definitely come back. The crunch on the outside and sauces are delicious! It's not overly saucy and not overly flavored. 15 pieces good enough for 2 people. Cole slaw is good too. Radish is good, not too sour and fits the Korean raddish...
Read moreMy buddy was hyping Crunch Chicken up so much of had to try it. On my way home from work I called in a pick up order. 2 orders of whole chicken (10 pieces for $21 each). Ended up getting honey garlic and extra sweet spicy with a side of jalapeno fire dipping sauce. It also came with a couple sides of pickled radish. It was an in/out type of order and the cashier was super cool.
Upon opening the boxes and the aromas spilling out, I was super excited to dig in. Flavors were good and the hot sauce was spicy, but not overly spicy. However, I was disappointed in the amount of meat on the chicken pieces we had and seemed like it was mostly breading and bones. This is my first time here so I don't know if this is a regular thing or a one time incident. Plus, being that multiple other Korean chicken joints serve cabbage salad as a side, I was disappointed that it was not served here.
The joint inside is fairly quaint, with about 5-7 tables. Located in a small strip plaza so parking is tight as well.
Anyhow, I might try Crunch...
