This review is for the printing department. Wish I hadn't went at all. The employee there asked what I needed then was starring and scrolling on the computer there while I was explaining what I need. Couldn't tell if she was listening. She just gave me a book with the different materials of printing paper and walked away. A few mins later I chose my paper materials and waited for help with the next step. Nobody followed-up. Asked another employee behind the desk a question about pricing per sheet of paper and she said depends on how many sheets (??) and scrolls on her computer. I was like umm ok so can i print these from my email? She asked who was helping me before, and went off to go get the other employee, who told me to wait for an available computer then put in my credit card to be charged $0.50/minute to use it to print. There was a lady sitting on the computer but using her phone and not logged in, I asked if I can use the computer and she finally got up a few mins later.... then went to complain to the manager about the employees customer service and for a refund for herself. The whole energy there was just bad. Anyway I just wanted to get it done I sat down, took forever to load, had so much trouble opening the website I needed to print stuff from (a download from Etsy). Stood back in line for customer service, they ignored me when I said excuse me then I kept trying to get there attention (being charged by the second, literally) and they were so rude and told me to wait I was like can u just tell me which file format to save as in order to print on your system?? She answered me, I went back, still wasn't working, I stood back in customer service line, and this rude employee had the nerve to let people go ahead of me asking what they need when I was so clearly in line first. She acted like i wasnt there, ignoring me when i was kindly asking her what to do to get what i need done. I went back to computer, logged off, and asked for a refund from the original employee. She said well u still used the computer. I was being charged $9 for nothing. I said I spent half of those minutes waiting in line trying to get help when nobody wanted to assist me and also the website is blocked on this computer so I can't even access what I need. Acting like I owe them? I just wasted so much time here on my small window of availability to run this errand today and i had my toddler with me sleeping like as if i want to spend her nap time here. I didn't even complain about all that i just said "I didn't even get what i needed" She looked so annoyed and said FINE I'll get u a refund and stomped away- she disappeared and never came back. I had to go to customer service desk to get a refund and they were nice and did it right away. I finally went to a small business printing shop and it was day and night difference!!!! Got what I needed right away without any trouble!!! Would never come back to this useless...
Read moreI’m editing my original post because it was disappointing the store did not price match similar products. I purchased a sign holder few days ago from Office Depot and had to drop by Staples because Office Depot did not have enough inventory. I noticed the Staples sign holder was $6 more for the same type of item and asked an employee if they could price match. They said they could not do it because their product was private label and it has to be the same brand. I had a sample of the Office Depot item in my car and offered to show it to them so they could check product similarity/quality. Employee appeared to be a shift supervisor, but couldn’t even escalate my concern to a higher manager.
I didn’t have time to argue with the Staples employee about a few dollars, so I just left. What Staples didn’t know is that this mere $6 dollars costed them a print job and other purchases worth few thousand dollars for this month that I needed to complete for work. The Office Depot down the street is always willing to accomodate me and I would rather drive further down the road for better service.
Sorry Staples, but you guys lost a...
Read moreI have been a Staples customer for over 12 years, and have preferred their store for office supply / AV equipment, etc. That may change now. I had a horrible experience at the Staples store on 6816 Katella Ave in Cypress, CA (LA area). Store is clean, I found what I needed with minimal difficulty. Then I got to checkout. The machine would not accept my MasterCard. The clerk said it was a card problem. I objected - it was a brand new card - but I was easy going and tried a different card. THAT card had an error reading also. I said that was not possible. The clerk just shrugged and said he did not know what to do - "maybe another card." He was absolutely NO help and clearly did not care about any resolution. I made it a point to thank him for No help and left the store. I suspect the problem was the register or, more likely the most common problem - OE (Operator Error!) I went across the street to Target - found everything I needed, the people were actually friendly - imagine! My days at Staples may well...
