Taco De Oro — Restaurant in Dade City

I wanted to like this spot, first few times i went,i thought i found a gem in hernando county.

Sometimes the burritos are actualy made right,with decent portions,then other times they completely screw you. Sometimes you are in and out and then other times you are chilling while 4 people get their order before you and then your burrito is cold

Then the sauces.... Especially the roja...weak

No idea how they're making the Roja this weak....i could drink a whole glass of it,thats how weak it is.

The people who don't know authentic are impressed,because the place is right next to a bunch of hotels and a ridiculously large white community.

Lastly and might be the worst part....the birria....isn't real birria....

Thats not Goat,not even lamb...... I'm not sure if they just do this and say it is and then just hit people with barbacoa or pastor and say its birria,then charge extra on the weekends,but thats a joke in a half...idk....but no way these burritos should be 10 bucks a pop and be so inconsistent... Tried it on a whim since it just opened and we weren’t impressed with the Mexican restaurant across the road… IYKYK. Let me just say it was AWESOME. We waited patiently for the weekend as that is when they serve birria. It was AMAZING. So flavorful and consume was DELICIOUS. My husband got the burrito fajitas and it was GIGANTIC. We also tried the regular steak tacos as well as beans and rice. Everything was amazing and packed so well. Tons of red and green sauce. But honestly the thing that stood out was how KIND and professional this place was. Customer service is top tier and wouldn’t hesitate to come again!! We had one chorizo and one pork pastor burritos, both delicious and so huge that we had tasty leftovers for another meal. Also enjoyed smaller portions of sope asada and elote. This is a small restaurant with three tables and seems mostly geared towards take out but the waitress was friendly and helpful. She brought the elote as an appetizer while we waited for the rest of our order and gave us a second cup and spoon so we could share. It was outrageously good. The meals came with red and green salsa that tasted freshly made and carried a nice kick. Service was fast and efficient. Definitely will go back to try...
