Where do I begin. A list I think would be best.
Marijuana smell so overwhelming in room, eventually had to sleep in my truck for the remainder of the evening on Monday night. Tub/Shower leaked on floor all 4 days. Toilet ran 24/7 and could not be stopped. Water stains in standing mirror. Cockroaches in room when arrived (2) or possibly water bugs, wife would have left immediately. Breakfast was not the quality I have come to expect from Quality Inn. Stayed at both Turfway park in Florence, Ky and Sevierville, Tn. Eggs in Florida were so cold and watery, Sausage was way too spicy and cold. I went to BK across street Tuesday morning and for the rest of the time I was there. TV color tube going bad. Large block of green rolling top to bottom on screen all the time. Property was a mess, no trimming, not mowed, food, cig butts and trash in lots of visible areas. Beds were sunken in the middle of each. Would not sleep under covers for fear of some form of illness coming from the sheets and mattress. All chrome type items were rusting through the "chrome", esp. handle in shower and bathroom light. Drapes peeling from being there too long, large sections where design had fallen off plastic drape and exposed exterior parking lot, letting in nighttime parking light, sun light. Paint and edging of such paint ran over where colors met. like a child tried their best but just could not "stay in the lines". ALL furniture scratched, used to point where stain missing in spots. No deadbolt lock on entrance door, just a small chain inside door which was rusting at bottom. Lamps were or at least looked hand painted so they would not have to be replaced with silver paint, but original brown was coming thru and looked as if it were done with a paintbrush. 5 holes in walls that had never been filled. Fake wood flooring coming apart, not attached to cement slab underneath. Caulking behind toilet dirty and brown, as if someone had peed on it and it had been left to decay. Toilet dirty in bowl, stained. 3 of 6 nonslip strips missing in tub. Staff was told at front desk, I was told by them, property manager would call me, have NEVER heard from manager. ALL metal doors rusting and then painted to cover rust.
I can go on, but I feel you may get the idea. Having been charged for this visit is just one of many reasons I will NEVER recommend this location to anyone. I chose it due to its proximity to my mother's residence and the amazing experiences at other Quality Inns. I will never give them my hard-earned money again. And I will make it a point to tell everyone who goes to Brooksville, to avoid this location as if it contained the black plague. I have to travel back to Sevierville and Florence; I am seriously considering another Hotel chain due to this experience. This may be an issue of lack of funds to properly remodel and repair, but the "Quality Inn" name is being drug through the mud, so to speak because of this location and its conditions. AS the price was what it was, I was not expecting the Waldorf-Astoria. But the conditions here are deplorable.
To say the least, I am seriously disappointed and going to my doctor to ensure I have not contracted something from the state...
Read moreI had to make a family trip to the area for Memorial Day. It's a 2 hour drive from where I live, the weather was 99 degrees and having to go to 2 cemeteries to place flowers I was looking forward to getting to "my home away from home." I came in tired, and beat downed from the weather (my van does not have air conditioning - too old and too expensive to fix).
From the very moment that I rolled in (I'm disabled and need to use a scooter to get around) to the lobby the front desk was great. Lin was extremely professional informed me that the hotel (built in 1972) was too old for an elevator so she put me in the only disabled equipped room- the room costs more than the one I had selected but she upgraded me to it and left me at the lower price. When I called to see if she had any restaurant menus available she personally delivered them to me and informed me that if I wanted Domino's Pizza delivered it then the minimum bill had to be $25. She was correct. The second restaurant-Monticello's I'd tried before. Though their closer- across the road almost- their pizza tastes like wet soggy cardboard and isn't hot when they deliver it. Their wings are ok. But their food is way over priced. Note; Don't use them. Go to
Domino's instead. Even though their 19 miles from the hotel- the price of $25 is worth it. Between wings, a garden salad, bread bites and 2 cokes all hot or cold depending on the food. I couldn't have asked for more.\
The room itself is comfortable and very clean. No damage to the walls and quiet.
The following morning- check out was after breakfast. The continental bar serves a good selection of common fare, the only woman who works the restaurant area is professional, courteous, attentive, helpful, and welcomes you like family if you return.
I've traveled extensively in my 59 years- and this staff could give others lessons in hospitality. Keep up the great work! You're my #1 hotel...
Read moreI give these guys an A+ for effort. From first glance at the hotel from the freeway, you might think twice about staying here. You can tell it is an older property. I generally stay in newer properties, but after reading the recent reviews thought I’d give these guys a shot. I was not disappointed. The front desk staff was super friendly, and made checking in very easy. The room is most definitely recently remodeled. They have done a good job with decorating, the furnishings look nice and the room is well put together. There is a new sink countertop and mirror, new wood grain tile on the floor. The beds, pillows, and bedsheets are all quite comfortable. The TV is a bit aged, but still HD. You can tell that this hotel spent a lot of money remodeling all of these rooms. And almost got it right, but there was no attention to detail. For example new tile on the floor, fresh paint on the wall, a refreshed tub/shower along with the new fancy sink countertop..... but all of the nice stuff does not mix well with the old switches and receptacles, the old air vent or the fact that they painted over the wallpaper and did not smooth out the walls and make the correct repairs before painting. In the main room there’s new paint, new art on the walls, new headboard, new dark wooden furnishings, and then an old chair that looks like it’s been here since the motel was built, and it definitely shows it’s age. I’m not knocking the hotel, but if you were one who pays attention to detail, might drive you crazy. But nevertheless, it’s a good place to stay. Everything was clean the beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly. So they get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me and an A+ for effort. Also has new super bright LED’s illuminating the parking lot. You can tell the owner of this property cares about it and wants to offer a good service to his customers. I would...
