This review is not for the campground but rather the website listing the information for this campground. I'm sure, if you can get in, that this campground is great.
Gates close at 5PM and all campers cannot check in after 5PM.
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THIS BEFORE BUYING.
Showed up at 5:45PM unaware of this and was locked out and denied a refund. Had to buy an expensive hotel. The sign at the gate says to call the 800 number after hours. They told me to refer to my confirmation email. The confimation email states "POLICY - Gate code to be provided by park in confirmation email". Then states further down, hidden in small letters within multiple paragraphs, that you must arrive before 5pm, which is not shown when you checkout. It should clearly show "CHECK IN FROM 3 TO 5PM" before you click pay. HOW HARD IS THAT.
I understand you need to check UTV permits but it is rediculous that you have a 2 hour...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe spent bringing in 2021 @ Croom's Buttgenbach Campground. We have camped here previously with family and love it. This time though, we had a family across from us that decided the rules for quiet time did not apply to them. So the park ranger was called out after 11pm on Friday night and after 1130pm on Saturday night. Saturday's call led to the campers honking their horns intermittently throughout the night until 130am, hitting something metal every 5 to 10 minutes, slamming their RV door, etc., because the park ranger was called on them a second night. We would like to see the park rangers ride the campground after quiet hours to ensure people are following the rules and regulations that make Croom's such a great place to camp. I would have given 5 stars, but I think park rangers need to step it up a bit so that all can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Campground sites are fairly nice, we stayed in Buttgenbach #10, there were bits of trash and broken glass in and around the site. The bathrooms were filthy, canāt recall them being cleaned once during our five day stay. For moto action, this is an epic experience and the weekend was insanely busy! For mountain biking, the SWAMP mountain bike trail system is roughly 2 -3 miles north of the campground. Access to the SWAMP trails from the campground involves squeezing through an opening in a locked gate and riding north on FL 9, which is a sandy two track that intersects Croom Road (asphalt). Our future SWAMP rides had us driving to the Tucker...
