I am a disabled United States Marine Corps veteran, I live in Saginaw Texas so the drive to this restaurant is about an hour. I brought my sister who is vegan to try it out. From the beginning my experience was not very well when I called to place my order at El Palote Panadería. The girl I spoke to was very dismissive and I just felt like she was in a rush. I understand that they are very busy but that is not the customers fault. I ordered three tortas de chicharrón. 2 dry and 1 wet, 3 Cokes, and 5 cinnamon rolls. I also asked the girl for extra salsa. She said okay and asked if that would complete our order. we said yes. She took the payment over the phone. once the transaction was complete she asked what vehicle we were going to be in so we explained that we would be in a small blue pickup truck with ladders on top. She then rudely hung up the phone. The food is expensive which is understandable because everything is vegan and I'm assuming organic and the wait is super long. we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get our food. When we got our food the kid that brought the food over to us was very rude. He only brought over 2 cokes which we could visually see from the clear bag. we told him we ordered three and he insisted that there was three in the bag when we could clearly see that there was only two.. we then started to look in the other bags where the food was obviously at. And he continued to assure us that the third one was in there somewhere and made us keep looking. He then looked at the receipt and said you only got charged for two. This was true but we asked for 3. At that point I was okay with that I told him don't worry about it. And he simply walked away. We started looking through the food and realized that there was no salsas at all. we were still in the parking lot at this point so we saw him and flagged him down. I asked him for some green salsa and he quickly replied with we charge for those. I was like oh okay well I asked for some it's on my receipt. On the receipt it is showed extra salsas but no charge. He then said okay I'll be right back. He went inside just to come back out and tell us that we didn't get charged for the salsas. I told him I know we didn't get charged and we didn't know that we needed to be charged for this. if we knew then we would have paid. We asked the girl for extra salsas and she said okay and never said there was going to be a charge. He said okay I'll be right back. he then left and came back and said it would be $0.75 per salsa because the tortas do not come with salsa at all. I told him whatever I'll pay for it I gave him the change and told him that this was very bad customer service and that I shouldn't have to be paying for it but it didn't matter. he left and came back with my salsas and did Apologize in the end but it did not seem sincere. I sat in the parking lot to eat my food and realized that one was wrong but I didn't want to have them go back and remake it so I didn't worry about it but the food was very dry and not good at all.. I was glad that I bought the extra salas if not I there is no way that I could have ate it. As I was sitting there eating my food I saw another upset customer arguing with the same kid about his food and the kid was arguing with him back and in the end he said he would go and take care of it. when the customer attempted to give him the food the kid pointed at the business garbage bin and made the customer throw it out himself. I flagged the customer down and he said that he ordered flautas but got a burrito instead and the kid kept arguing with him that it was a flauta and not a burrito. The rudest thing I have ever seen. I will never come back here again and I will never recommend this to anybody. On the contrary I would discourage people from trying this...
Read moreI can’t find the words to express my gratitude for El Palote. We drive almost an hour to enjoy this beyond delicious food. We spend $100 or more everytime we visit, because everything is so good we can never make up our minds. For my family and I, it was love at first bite, and it NEVER disappoints. This go round I had the taco plate with “barbacoa”, and three al pastor tacos on the side. My partner got herself the “barbecue” sandwich with rice and beans, and my daughter got the “chimmy”. Today they had fresh horchata so of course we had to get it. We also grabbed this huge piece of layered cookie cake topped with a vanilla cream swirl, and a peach it was SO BOMB!!!!. We also grabbed two concha’s to go. My tacos were so savory. The onion and cilantro was super fresh, and the salsa was the icing on the cake. The barbecue sand which was HUGE. The pickles were fresh and crispy. The onion was sliced to perfection with the perfect ratio of BBQ sauce. The chimmy is topped with a nacho cheese. The consistency was spot on. The tortilla was soft and grilled on the outside evenly. It wasn’t rubbery or soggy at all. The rice and beans remind me of my Abuela’s delicious and perfection with every bite. Everything was so on point as always, but what made this visit special was Kimberly. Her energy was bright, welcoming, and very attentive. She took the time out to smile and greet people as they walked in. She even told everyone thank you, and have a nice day. Even the ones who ignored her walking out. She made my 9 year olds day by shaking her hand and introducing herself as we were leaving which warmed our hearts so much. The restaurant is always clean, and the display case will make anyone with a sweet tooth feel like they stepped foot into taqueria heaven. It does get busy at times, so keep in mind. They make fresh food not fast food. So enjoy the time, and take a look at the small shop they have set up inside the restaurant. Or go take a picture next to the mural outside of the building. The people who left 1 Star obviously wanted to complain, and I’m sure did not deliver any feedback while in the restaurant. Because the owners would have for sure made it right. It’s evident they are new to the vegan community and don’t understand the infamous “Vegan Food Tax” since they complain about price in their review. This isn’t “On The Border” or “Lupe Tortilla” so the expectation of “free chips and salsa” is a reach. Those places don’t cook their tortilla chips fresh daily, or make their salsa in house. So ignore these complainers, and go try it for yourself. There’s a reason why people flock to this restaurant. Both Vegan and non Vegans love El Palote, and you will too. Thank you Kimberly, and the rest of the staff for creating such a wonderful experience that always beings me back to my childhood. See...

From the moment we stepped into El Palote Panaderia, we knew we were in for a treat. The warm, inviting atmosphere, filled with the aroma of fresh-baked goods and simmering spices, instantly set the scene for a delicious experience.
Our culinary journey began with the Taco Plate, a vibrant combination of al pastor and fajita meats. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, with the al pastor boasting a perfectly balanced blend of savory and sweet, and the fajita offering a tender, smoky delight. The accompanying tortillas and toppings were fresh and flavorful, completing the perfect taco experience.
Next, we delved into the Torta with Fajita, a handheld masterpiece of juicy, grilled fajita nestled within a soft, telera roll. The savory filling was complemented perfectly by the refreshing pico de gallo and creamy avocado, creating a symphony of textures and flavors in every bite.
The Agua de Piña was a refreshing and thirst-quenching beverage, with the sweetness of pineapple perfectly balanced by a hint of tartness. The Champurrado, a traditional Mexican chocolate drink, was warm and comforting, with a rich chocolate flavor that lingered on the palate.
As we indulged further, we were treated to a Mangonada, a vibrant blend of mango, chamoy, and chili powder. The sweet, tangy, and spicy notes came together in perfect harmony, creating a unique and unforgettable flavor explosion.
The Paleta de Coco, a refreshing and creamy coconut ice pop, was the perfect way to cleanse our palates between bites. The fresh coconut flavor was pure and simple, offering a welcome respite from the more intense flavors.
No visit to a panaderia would be complete without indulging in their baked goods. We opted for the Concha and Marranito, both of which were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The concha, with its sweet bread and crunchy sugar topping, was a classic Mexican treat, while the marranito, a savory pastry filled with seasoned pork, offered a delightful change of pace.
Every aspect of our dining experience at El Palote Panaderia was simply outstanding. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We left feeling utterly satisfied and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for a truly delicious and authentic Mexican dining experience in Dallas, look no further than El Palote Panaderia.
