Far out is an upscale casual dining experience with rotating menus, "just right" portions that are presented in a passionate manner.
The theme and atmosphere is unlike any other I've experienced in Dallas.
The outside has a desert, rustic and modern vibe to it with the inside transitioning into a more intimate setting by utilizing dim lighting, comfortable seating and a rounded construction that molds the decor and style all together.
The service was great and our seating preferences were catered to. We were checked on several times to see if we needed anything. Ashley took great care of us.
You can see the chefs in the kitchen working smoothly to get every order out in a timely and careful manner.
The kitchen has last call around 8:30-8:45pm and the closes while the bar remains open, currently, until 12pm or until zoning laws change. I was told its a very lively vibe during the weekends where they also close at 12pm.
The food was very eloquently presented and crafted to be delicious and extraordinary, which is definitely was.
We highly recommend the chips and hummus. The chips were crunchy and toasty and very well seasoned. The chili hummus paired nicely.
The chuck slab I had was very tender and paired well with the ingredients they chose which, going based off memory, was a delicious cheese that reminded me of blue cheese, mint, parsley, red onions a special sauce and a fried potato mash that was fried on the outside and was shaped like a stick of butter.
The fried egg plant was delicious too and was very appealing to my girlfriend who is used to typical vegetarian/vegan dishes such as some carb with cheese, pasta or a salad. This dish was very creative and satisfied her appetite.
Overall, the flavors blended together very well, staff were very welcoming, they offer non alcoholic craft beverages and the outside lounge area is great, cacti filled area, for an after dinner chill spot for photos or relaxing.
It makes you anticipate what they may have next on the menu.
Come check it out, it's a little spot that you wouldn't know offered as...
Read moreBusy cuisine, some worked, some didn't. I really liked this place and it is sooo close to five stars.... My wife and I came for supper - I began with their corn fritters (16) while my wife tried a Daniela From Puebla (15)(elderberry liqueur with tequila and things) and loved it . For our entrees my wife got scallop crudo (17) and Wagyu dumplings (19), while I got the special: squash milanese (15)(pattypan steaks with some crema - vegetables blended with sour creme). Not the most comfortable of surroundings, but new and nice. Wonderful attentive staff. The vibe of a bar presented as a restaurant - better to eat at in the daylight. The food: I got almost enough to eat with the corn fritters and the squash milenese. I almost had an issue with my wife's selections. Her very small bowl of scallops just tasted weird - not bad,but not good either. I ate the tofu cubes out of her dumplings broth and they just plain tasted wrong - like restroom sanitizer - not uninteresting, but wrong. Big money for small portions. Interesting, but insubstantial in a number of ways. Might be back, but Kalachandji's is...

We had an amazing dinner at Far Out Dallas! Our party of 6 was lucky to have Ashley as our server—she was friendly, knowledgeable, and guided us through the menu perfectly. She suggested we try 6–9 dishes, so we went for it and ordered everything on the menu.
The pasta was the standout—absolutely incredible. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The mushrooms were a surprise hit—unexpectedly delicious with such depth of flavor. The tri tips and potatoes were packed with savory goodness and perfectly seasoned.
Honestly, everything was really good. The only dish I wouldn’t order again were the ribs—they were a bit tough for my taste. But everything else more than made up for it.
The atmosphere is fantastic—cool, vibrant, and a great vibe for a night out. My only wish is that they had a more developed wine program, as none of us are big liquor or beer drinkers. That said, I did enjoy a nice glass of prosecco with dinner.
Overall, a wonderful experience. We’ll...
