Fair Park Coliseum, located in Dallas' historic Fair Park, has a rich history that has made it a beloved landmark in the city. Built in 1905, the coliseum originally served as a main venue for livestock shows, rodeos, and agricultural exhibitions. The coliseum also hosted political rallies, ice shows, circuses, and even high school and college sporting events.
However, in recent decades, the coliseum has faced challenges. Lack of proper maintenance and aging infrastructure resulted in its closure in 1985. Despite this setback, there have been efforts to revitalize and preserve this historic venue. In 2018, the coliseum underwent a renovation project to restore its architectural grandeur and upgrade its facilities, ensuring its continued viability as a cultural and entertainment hub in Dallas.

Read moreI attended the black invitational rodeo here. I recommend parking at gate 11 which takes you to the parking lot of the main entrance. It was super easy to access with plenty of parking. The indoor arena has good seating throughout. The a/c could have been a bit better. I was in section L row 2 seat 3-5. The front row has a wall in front of your knees. A really tall person may find this tight. Row 2 felt more like the front row especially since no one was in front of us. This was the ideal location if you want to be near the chute. Just make sure your adrenaline can handle it when the bulls are bucking right up to the barrier in front of you. There is a wall with fencing BUT I did see a bucking horse get his front leg caught on the top rail while in the chute. The food prices and drinks were high but that’s to be expected these days. $6 hotdogs and $5 for a regular plastic bottle of water. The event center was clean with no...
Read moreEl Centro's graduation was here. This was a fiasco! Could not here or understand anything and I was about 100 ft from stage. Also the people who were hired to seat people were extremely rude and carried sticks like they were ready to hit people. I am handicapped and my son was sitting with me to help me and the woman tried to make him get up and sit 20 rows away from me. I could hardly make it in the building and now she wanted the person that helped to move away because he wasnt handicapped. They spoke badly about people and argued with tiny kids. This was not time for these attitudes. Families were there to watch loved one take the next step for their new lives. Next time get the sound system checked and hire a reputable...
