Located in a glass-front strip mall, I saw nothing special about Fito's. But, I love Mexican food, and Fito's has it in spades. I'm still fairly new at Mexican food, having eaten almost nothing but tacos for many years. I'm still unsure what "trompo" means. So, I diversified a little and ordered an empenchana (al pastor... my favorite meat). It was kinda like a taco... moreso than like an empenada. The meat was flavorful and plentiful. That's all there was... meat... in a fried flour tortilla. Served with a smidgen of lettuce, chopped onion, and sauteed onion... just enough for one empenchada. The creamy green salsa was wonderful... tasty with just the right amount of heat. I'm not sure if it was a bargain at $7.85 for one empenchada and a Coke, but, if I had it to do over again, I'd order 2! Plenty of room for patrons... I counted about 50 chairs. Service was fast and friendly. EDIT 11/26/21: Well, I found out that "trompo" is the same as "al pastor". Guess that made my order redundant. But, still the lady taking my order didn't roll her...
Read moreI have been driving by this location for months, and after taking a look at the menu online, decided to stop in. It was a cold rainy Monday, so not a lot of action in the restaurant. I ordered the "3 QUESABIRRIAS Y CONSOME" and paid. After sitting down, the guy at the front of the counter tried to come talk to me about something, but I don't speak Spanish. I thought we could work it out, but he quickly left. The next customer in line helped out and told me that they didn't have any "birria meat". Since I had already paid, she helped me pick out some other meat to be added to what turned out to be some pretty basic tacos. Why did they let me order it if they didn't have it? They put some pork into some tacos, and it was pretty good, but no dipping sauce, and no quesadilla like cheese. Very...
Read moreThis place has very good tacos. I would give it 5 stars, but I personally think the tacos are overpriced considering the amount of meat they give you.
I’ll break down my review a little further:
Salsa - 5 stars - very flavorful and not too spicy.
Value of the taco - 3 stars - if tacos are gonna cost $2+ each, add more meat.
Cleanliness/atmosphere - 4 stars - adequate amount of setting available, TV volume was a little loud and playing the news
Onion/cilantro mix - 3 stars - they give you the onions and cilantro already mixed, and it’s 99% onion and barely any cilantro.
Parking - 5 stars - free to park in their lot.
Would I be back? Probably not, there are many other amazing taco places near that you get more bang...
