Been going here since 1995. Down home Mexican food in a friendly and casual atmosphere. It's a family owned and run business. Lulu and her daughters are a joy. The food is delicious.
This is my updated review for 2025. My health took a severe hit, in May 2024, So I physically haven't been in the restaurant since then. I'm in Hospice Home Care Stage 4. That being said, I order take-out, and my Caregiver, who is also my best friend, drives over to pick our orders up. The food is still delicious, still enough heat for my Spanish Palate. Ms Lulu, her husband, daughter. Are. Friendly, hearts as big as Texas, and a Big Shout-out to them. They help out their community and are still in business since 1995! A special hello and hug to Lulu, her husband and Marylou for your friendship, cooking and serving skills, and returning the love to me a loyal customer, even through the Pandemic, they hung on, and their clientel v stepped up to make sure they survived. I might not make it, but given the opportunity to walk or wheelchair into the restaurant, I would do it in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and tell them "Mundo" recommended us to come eat here! Much to love to everyone at Lulu's Mexican Restaurant. My name is Ed Arvizu, and I approved this message. ( I'm not running for office, but with the right funding, I could be persuaded to run for...
Read moreMy wife and I have started to frequent this restaurant and we love it! Found it via a google search and were not disappointed. The food is great and you will immediately notice the quality of the food. The complaint about no margaritas...or about alcohol...if you're looking for an "On the border" experience then go to that establishment and not here. This is a hole in the wall, if you want quality Mexican food hit this place up. The caldo de res is amazing (Mexican beef soup). The Menudo is clean...if you've eaten menudo you just have to try it to understand. The syrup for pancakes..im not sure whats in it, but its not your typical overly sweet syrup. The salsa here is made by hand and is actually spicy. Not that pace picante sweet tomato mess you get at tex mex joints..too many details we've noticed about this place to list. You will not be...
Read more7/10 Got a beef burrito. It weighed 265g without the foil which honestly is very dissappointing even tho it's 9$ they could at least spare some rice and lettuce like that's gotta be the cheapest thing in there. The taste of the burrito is solid but the indvidial components are kinda meh. I got the beef and it was kinda bland and tough. I didn't enjoy how they cooked the burrio because when you toast it that hard it gets kinda hard to bite through so you gotta tear it with your teeth like an animal. Probably won't be back unless i want to try other things and...
