I visited on high hopes based on a recommendation. But here's my experience. "OK" at best, mesh screen crust. Sauce is decent. cheese is very skimpy. It's difficult to judge the cheese quality (e.g. is it made from whole milk mozzarella) because there's just too little of it to judge much from. Pie is undersized. I ordered a 20", and received one that was just UNDER 17". At $17 for a plain cheese pie, being undersized and skimpy on cheese is not cool in my books.
Additional Warning: About the price... So I ordered the 20" cheese only pie for $16.95, but they tried to add on $2.35 for a topping -meaning they wanted $19.30 for the 20" (which is actually under 17" - see pics). I asked why. They said cheese is a topping. I said I did not order "extra cheese", just the normal "cheese pizza" as is listed in the menu. At 1st, they insisted cheese is till a topping, and that the register can not ring in a pie with out at least 1 topping. After I continued to be unhappy, they called someone (perhaps the owner?) and apologized to me, and corrected it. I believe this was an honest error on their part, however, patrons should be aware and make sure this error doesn't 'innocently' resurface.
Overall, the I can't really complain about the skimpy cheese, because maybe that's just how they make them all. But I do feel jipped about paying for a 20" and getting a 17", which lowered my review from 3 to 2 stars. Again.. just not cool. Any I did ask them about that while there, and their response was something like, "no, it's definitely 20". So I measured it with their pens and napkins, went home, and figured out that it was under 17". So again, very not cool, and not great attitude of them to just shrug it off.
As I write this, and get frustrated all over again, I am tempted to lower my review to 1 star.
I'm not the type to just write nasty things. So I've included photos of all... though I'm not sure if there's a way to link the photos to my review, so you may have to just look through them all and figure out which are mine... sorry. the overall pie so you can judge if skimpy on cheese or not the measurements (against their 8.25" napkins and just under 6" pens) so you can see it really is under 17" diameter. (I swear... after this, I'm gonna start carrying a tape measure in my pocket. LOL) The back of the crust with the screening mesh patterns. Note: this isn't necessarily bad, but more times than not it seems to be associated with more "generic" cooking techniques. I willn't definitely say that's the case here. The crust was "OK", not bad, not great, in my opinion. Great crust will be crisp, yet lite at the bottom. This is difficult to find in Dallas. So their crust was "average" by dallas standards in my opinion. I will add that I'm not a big fan of places that keep their ovens and pizza makers in the back behind closed doors, as this place does. FO\or example, if I saw them making it, and how little cheese they put on, I could of ar least had the chance to pay to upgrade to extra cheese, and better salvage the pizza.
Note: I just figured out that there doesn't seem to be a way to post pictures through google, so I hate to say this here.... buttttttt see my Yelp review for the...
Read moreMy husband and I were out in Bishop Arts last night seeing a show so we decide to grab a late night bite after around 1am and this place looked promising. We walk in & approach the girl at the counter with a "Hi, how are you?" And she responded with a dirty look & asked us, very rudely, what we wanted. We both work late nights as bartenders, so I'm pretty compassionate towards people who work late shift. I get it, you're probably tired and want to go home. I politely continue to give her my order. We ordered some cheese fries and a chocolate cake and waited in the car for roughly 15 minutes, which is the time she quoted us for our food. We saw a couple and another lady walk in (who she was very rude to right off the bat as well) so my husband gets in line behind them to see if our food is ready and she said they lost our food order and they have to remake it. No problem right? Once again, we're both in customer service, we understand stuff happens, we can wait. Another 15 minutes goes by and I ask my husband, who is inside, what the ETA is. At this point, he's the only one in there, so they're not even busy, so he asks her politely again if it's ready and she makes no effort on her end to check on it or to give him an update. She sat on her phone in the corner with attitude all over her face almost the entire time, clearly not wanting to be there or do her job and after waiting a total of 45 minutes for an order of cheese fries, which they were clearly not making, refusing to put in any effort to go to the kitchen to get our order ready, she just asks my husband very angrily if he would rather just have a refund and finally hands him the cake, so he agreed to the refund and left without the fries. We completely wasted our time and had the rudest interaction I've seen in a long time at a place. I don't normally write bad reviews, but after checking out other reviews, it seems other people have had a very similar interaction with this girl, even to go as far as taking pictures of her & many people have been robbed of their money (or time) by not receiving their food either, so this is an intentional behavior on her part. We felt extremely disrespected, not even because of the wait, but because there was absolutely 0 attempt to give us any service. If there was any type of communication, we'd be pretty damn understanding, since we work in one of the busiest restaurants in our city, but this seems to be a reoccurring issue in your establishment, which is why I'm sharing my experience as well. If you're gonna work in customer service, you can't treat every single guest that walks...
Read moreI’ve eaten here at least twice before and the food was good along with the customer service. However, last Thursday I attempted to place an order online and was not allowed to enter the code for my 20% off that I received via email. I called in and placed my order. I even asked the gentleman to read the order back to me. He had messed it up, but I corrected him and proceeded to pick up my order about 25 minutes later. When I got there I paid and took the order to the car. As soon as I get to the car I open the pizza box and to my surprise, my pizza did not have any jalapeños on it. I thought OK, how did they mess this up when I know I verified before I hung up that I said jalapeños? I looked at the receipt, and jalapeños were on there. So I went back inside and asked for a refund for my jalapeños. I was told it would show up that night. Seven days later and I have still have not received the refund for the jalapeños that were not on my pizza. Honestly, I might have let it slide, but when I tell you this was the single most saltiest pizza I have ever had in my life. To be clear, I am aware this was a three pepperoni pizza. I have ordered this pizza before and it was never this salty. So I’m not sure if the crust made a difference, or if someone over salted the sauce, it was literally inedible. I will give them another try later and hopefully I can update this review, because I prefer small businesses and do not like to see them struggling. Also, the salad was made to perfection. So I’m really not understanding how they messed up the pizza when all they had to do was...
