Let's get the good stuff out of the way: the amount of food you get is awesome, the BBQ chicken breast was delicious, and the chili Mac & Cheese was good.
I enjoy trying new places with my wife. We happen to find this place randomly, has really great reviews so we said let's go!
The first thing I was not a fan of was the location, it's incredibly small. Inside is ONE bar style tall table facing the window. As soon as I mentioned it's our first time here, the gentleman at the front had no problem telling us Guy Fieri was just here and what he ordered, it was a little tacky in my opinion. You have seating outside with four metal and very wobbly tables on uneven concrete. Not a good experience trying to eat food tilting to the side. NO BATHROOMS to wash your hands before eating. Really?
The food: it was literally $50.00 for two BBQ sandwiches, regular Mac and chili Mac, 1/3lbs of chicken, and a chicken taco, with the worst cherry cobbler I've tried so far. Now maybe I'm out of touch with prices of restaurants (I'm not) but it's way too expensive.
The sandwiches we ordered were way over sauced, we both ordered the SPICY variety and were given sweet BBQ with no spiciness to be found (on the sandwich) and not on the side. Probably my mistake for not telling them to place sauce on the side, but I was hoping they wouldn't screw it up.
The chicken taco 🌮 has a sour cream white sauce just smothered on top, way too much. The actual corn taco tortilla was delicious I must say.
The cobbler, just not my cup of tea. No substance, just cherries on top of bland crust with more bland crust over it. Just stay away. Oh and I had to ask twice about the cobbler we paid for, finally I just went inside and repeated myself a third time until he handed me the cobbler.
In my opinion, mediocre BBQ joint and...
Read moreFirst, the food here is really good, and One90 is very close to our house. My husband and I regularly order their brisket tacos and chicken tacos (as I am gluten-free, and they serve them on corn tortillas). We order online and ask for extra cheese on the brisket tacos EVERY time, and they never actually put extra cheese. We also ask for barbeque sauce on the side EVERY time (as there is no barbeque sauce on the tacos--which makes sense for soggy-reasons). They NEVER include barbeque in our bag, and when we ask for barbeque sauce they say they have to charge an extra dollar for barbeque sauce. What? I have to pay extra to have barbeque sauce to put on my dry brisket tacos? This is so irritating that we were discussing it with our neighbor; she said she thinks the food at One90 is good too, but it is over-priced. She told us about a time that she asked for some extra pickles with her ~$20 barbeque plate, and they told her that she had already gotten pickles with her plate. Are you kidding? Getting extra pickles with your over-priced barbeque is also a problem? In summary, the food is good although fairly pricey, but they nickel and dime you to death (which I absolutely hate). Maybe they should raise the price of the barbeque by another quarter, so they could "afford" to include barbeque sauce and perhaps some extra pickles or extra cheese with the...
Read moreI have seen this place for years but I thought it was only a place to go and buy meat that has been packaged. Was looking through Google reviews and saw that they actually do sell hot food. Stopped in and had the two meat plate. I got the brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese and the beans. I wanted to try their sausage so i got a side of their regular sausage to go with it, no drink. Total came out to $32. The price isn't terrible compared to today's prices on bbq. The wait wasn't long. I opened up the container and I was pleased and disappointed at the same time. Everything looked really good but I was a little upset that the brisket wasn't sliced it was more of a cut up pile. I tried the Mac and cheese first and it is a solid Mac and cheese but I wasn't expecting it to be spicy. It was good tho. I'm not a big fan of beans but they are really solid I tried the brisket and it was decent, I would have much rather had it in slices but it was ok. The ribs were a bit of a let down, there was hardly any meat on the bone whatsoever. The sausage was good. The BBQ sauce was solid. It almost gave me the feeling as if the serving I got was a couple of their packaged items warmed up and plated. I think I'll give it a shot again sometime but first impressions...
