Merry Christmas to all.
It's kind of late on the review. Better late than never. Was out for a drive and got hungry for fries. Not any fries, hand-cut, thick n crispy is my preference. Did a quick map search, up pops Rodeo Goat Cypress Waters.
The location is 100% trendy, right off Northlake. In fact, the outside patio/deck hovers over the lake on pylons. Beautiful view of the lake. RD sits within an upscale mixed use, corporate/residential planned community.
The restaurant is very trendy, warm, and has a communal feel to it by concept. A place for groups, friends, family, or to meet and make all three from scratch.
The server was all smiles, very upbeat, but not too. The drink order came quickly. Fountain drink that wasn't watered down. Lots of punch.
Burger n fries. Burger was this fat, juicy, I mean jooooocy, beefy patty that seemed juicier each bite. Never ending goodness. The mountain of fries is enough for three adults. They were super thick with this golden crispy outer shell, but baked potato inside texture and taste. The perfect Texas Frie. Nothing French about it. This is purely a Texas frie.
The server kept a check on my experience throughout. Was a great meal experience. Couldn't finish my fries, but I managed to scarf down all that gorgeous burger. I suggest you keep the fork handy. Fresh veggies pack this burger like a mini salad, so I had my fork in hand to mix it with a frie or two "animal style."
If you want a great burger experience and aren't a kid anymore, elevate your burger experience. You work hard and deserve a great burger experience beyond Mickey Ds or any fast food burger. You earned it. This location sets the bar for all burgers you'll ever have. 😋
Take care of yourselves. 2024 is almost here. Make no resolutions you don't plan to keep. Resolve to love more deeply, laugh harder, and take better care of yourselves. Those are the basics we should all practice...
Read moreWhenever a burger joint proclaims a Battle of a Burgers, you know they’ve got some interesting things going on. Our recent visit to Rodeo Goat in Coppell was proof positive. They’ve got attitude, and the tag line “We Grind So Fine” over the kitchen just adds a little more spice to the meat.
We were also exceedingly happy to find them not only open for business, but the kitchen still open at 9:30pm one recent Friday. We had com from an event nearby, and had not eaten prior, thanks to getting tied up in DFW traffic (imagine that), so we were beginning to start worrying we might have to deal with Denny’s or something similarly mediocre at that late hour.
Hallelujah, we were seated quickly, given menus, and orders taken. Bam! In just a few minutes, we were staring down our respective burgers, fries, and adult beverages. Our table quickly grew silent as we noshed.
I chose the Neil Young burger, a quirkily-named vegan patty with sprouts, tomato, and avocado. I asked them to hold the green goddess dressing because it was not vegan, but I subbed some BBQ sauce instead. A Hoppenheimer IPA washed it all down.
I am remiss, though, for not taking notes as to what my two daughters and son-in-law ordered, but I did get pics. Everyone was satisfied. There are enough burger set-ups as well as patty’s (Beef, Chicken, Turkey, homemade Vegan, and Impossible) to provide enough combinations to keep any math nerd occupied calculating the possibilities.
Prices are very fair for today, and serving sizes abundant. We came hungry, we left stuffed....
Read moreThe Rodeo Goat has always been held in high esteem in the DFW area for having great burgers, but with 5 locations around the metroplex, it is even easier to get one of these delicious gems. There are 18 gourmet burgers on their menu, each one of them sounding amazing and flavorful.
For our first time here I ordered the Sugar Burger. This gourmet burger has candied bacon, grilled peaches, caramelized onions, arugula, and jalapeno jam to make your taste buds do a happy dance. The burger looked amazing and tasted fabulous. Now notice that there is no cheese on this burger, that is how good the flavors are, it does not even need cheese to make it stand out. The peaches were canned peaches that had been grilled which makes sense because this burger is served year-round, but they do make it challenging to keep your burger together. The savory burger is contrasted by the sweet toppings to make this a memorable burger.
We also ordered the Ryan Howard burger which consisted of candied bacon, caramelized onions, gouda, swiss, mango pico, cream cheese spread, and Trailboss habanero sauce. Tammy ordered the sauce on the side and ended up not putting any on her burger because it was pretty warm. I ended up using it for my fries, and it did pack a little heat. The burger tasted great, but with three kinds of cheese like that how could it go wrong.
Our waiter was friendly and helpful throughout our entire visit. We had a very good meal and I look forward to coming back to Rodeo Goat in the future to try more of their...
