This is not a safe place if you’re a woman or someone concerned with privacy. I went with my boyfriend last night and while the bartender asked us both for ID’s, he only turned to ask me (in front of a packed bar) what my address was. It’s not safe to tell complete strangers where you live, especially not at a bar. He claimed it was to test if I had a fake ID. A simple google search will tell you a multitude of other (safer) ways to see if an ID is fake if that is a legitimate concern. I’ve been going to balcony club for the past few years and have never been singled out in such a way. Not that it matters, but my ID is real, I’m almost 30 years old and I ordered a gin drink that not a lot of young people would order. The jazz band was great, but having to recite my address in front of strangers felt really weird and demeaning. We left shortly after since we couldn’t get into the groove following that encounter. We saw the bartender smoking a cigarette in front of the entrance on our way out and told him to never ask a woman her address in front of strangers at a bar again. However, I’m concerned to return and wanted to share my experience to help warn others. If you’re anyone not wanting to have your safety compromised, be aware of a possibly uncomfortable encounter with the bald bartender at...

Totally get why this is Dallas’ destination for live lounge music, the featured band and open mic participants were all fantastic; this lady called Heather came up to sing and her voice was divine 😳 perfect choices of classics like Bye bye blackbird and I Love You for Sentimental Reasons that were just rendered so perfect (everyone was great really, from drums, guitars to sax, keyboard and double bass, they all had their jam going on and was such a treat to be there for 2 hours with some intermissions)
Thank you to our bartender Kade for being such a champ and adding more cheer to an already amazing night! Shared many laughs and got to try his kickass self-invented drink The Matador which you might get a chance to try too if you’re cool enough to get a seat a the bar 🤣 Ian his co-bartender was also hilarious, and we had such a great night here after dinner elsewhere.
TLDR: No food at this fine establishment, but come for the laughs, drinks and...
Read moreWell, the experience was fun. But you HAVE to check your tab afterwards!! The bartender or whomever decided to pad the bill and added $5+ to what I signed for (I know, not much but it's the principle). I always keep track of my tabs, and had to take a picture of mine because they didn't print out a second copy for me to keep. But I documented it as always and it was not what hit my bank account! They will also charge you a few extra "live music fees" which is fine if it actually goes to support the bands, but the charges were inconsistent when my friends and I compared tabs. So, I had to file with my bank. I emailed the club twice, as they don't provide a phone number anywhere and I am traveling for work so couldn't drop in this week. All that to say, just check your statement after going here... or pay cash so they can't add whatever they want!
** Update: Did end up receiving an email back from the manager. Although a bit delayed, I was credited back some of the mischarged amount, so I do really appreciate the follow up...
