McDonald's — Restaurant in Daly City

If I could give 0 stars I would.

My husband & I have tried our best to give this McDonald’s location a chance since it is literally down the street. But each time we go, we always experience an unnecessary headache & instant regret that we went to this location and not another one.

Some examples of the things that have happened: we ordered a large chicken sandwich meal with an extra order of fries on the side. After checking our bag at the 2nd window we discovered we were missing one order of fries. The worker really tried to argue with us & insisted we had only paid for one fries. He ended up apologizing for his mistake & giving us what we ordered. -my husband wanted a milkshake with two flavors (half chocolate and half vanilla) and was told that was not allowed. If you want two flavors , you would need to order 2 separate milkshakes apparently. Something I have NEVER experienced at any McDonald’s location EVER. -workers at the second window don’t say ONE word to you. Not even a “ thank you “ or “ have a good night “. They stare at you blankly like unblinking robots. No type of customer service at all -order takers always in a rush to get you to the window. I’ve ordered ONE item and started trying to order more items only to be interrupted in the process by a rude “OKAY THAT’LL BE ——“. I’ve had to match their energy & yell back “I’m not done yet!” -workers looking clueless when you ask questions or call them out on their errors. It seems like the majority of the staff don’t speak English or if they do , know very little

As of 10/21 not sure if it is just this location, but they’ve changed the sizes for their fries and McFlurry’s. More expensive prices & now smaller portions= total rip-off

While the food is hit and miss with decidedly more hits than misses, I've had 2 gross beverage experiences that make me doubt their cleaning practices too much to ever go back.

The 1st time, there was DIRT in my WATER. Not random specs of debris (gross but kinda understandable) actual DIRT from the GROUND that kinda resembled plant soil/potting mix. Because I took a sip before driving away, I looked in the cup (cuz duh, it tasted funny) and showed my drink to the guy at the window. While getting me a fresh water, he realized that their entire ice chest (separate from soda machine) was contaminated from a "dirty bucket" being used (!?!!) Instead he got my ice from the soda machine and all was good.

The last time I went here, my orange fanta and my fiancé's dr pepper both tasted off. They had an earthy musty taste laced with chemicals reminiscent of moldy mop water. I took both drinks inside to get a refund and also to tell the manager that the drive-thru soda machine is not being properly cleaned - and that you could taste it.

I really didnt like how the manager acted like he didn't know what I was talking about at first and insisted there was no issue with the soda machine. When i explained that the moldy chemical taste is from the nozzles being wiped down with a soapy kitchen towel instead of being removed and soaked like they're supposed to be, he leaned in closer to me and half-whispered "let's get you that refund."

If a manager's first instinct is to bs you about the taste of something you have already put in your mouth, they'll bs you about anything. I think he was really trying to gaslight me at first.

NOTE: I wasn't a Karen about it. I just shared info that I would want to have if i were managing that store....

Worst place to buy food. One experience I had is the workers giving me the wrong order and then when I brought it to their attention, the looked at each other while speaking Spanish and giggled. After that they gave me a another bag of food which had more than what I order! Yesterday I went through the drive thru and the food I got was disgusting!!! My 4 year old daughter had a happy meal and like usually she would start eating on her own just like everyone else. I noticed she had no interested in her food. So I checked her food and ask her why she wasn’t eating.. as I checked the food.. the meat in the cheeseburger was super cold!!! Mind you we just got the food and everyone else had warm food still but her meat was refrigerated temp cold! Omg.. I was mad. Then at the end of the night my eldest daughter comes to my room throwing up.. everything she threw up was from the mcdonalds she ate.. the McChicken and chicken nuggets! Now she is in bed sick from a stomach virus! I should of known something when the workers at the drive thru haded the food to me while giggle with eat other speaking again Spanish.. I’m have nothing against people speaking a second language but at a drive through you should be able to be respectful and speak a language that everyone else can understand..I would not recommend this place to anyone! These workers are disgusting people and are careless with people’s orders! They should...
