Wow, what a disaster. There was a 20 minute wait when we got there, which was understandable considering it was just after 1030am on a Saturday. When we finally sat down it was immediately apparent that it was chaos everywhere.
We were placed in a room packed with people and only two servers. Our server introduced herself and then took our order for two orange juices and said she would be back. She dropped off one water with us and then disappeared. Then she kindly dropped off coffee and left again. A significant amount of time went by and she finally returned for our food order. We asked if we could get the orange juices we had ordered. She apologized and explained that she was essentially working alone in that room. We don't blame her at all there just appeared to be zero organization.
We didn't receive our food until an hour after having sat down and we did not get what we ordered. My fiancé ordered chocolate chip pancakes, buttered toast and the 2 egg breakfast. He was served the lemon ricotta pancakes. We had to wait for the correction. My hashbrowns never arrived, but they did get my Omelet order right. We finished our food and waited to be given the check. We never got it. We had to go find our server, so we could finally leave. We got our check, paid, tipped and left. We walked out around 12:20pm. We won't go back, unfortunately, because it was just too stressful. I can only imagine how the...
Read moreMy husband and I were told it would be a 10 minute wait to be seated. It took between 15 and 20 minutes before we were seated. The staff was friendly, but the young woman who was checking in the guest was also seating guests and took our order. She was also seen assisting with some other chores. So, it appears that the place is not well managed. We approached another server after about a 20-minute wait of not being served our meal. Our server was back to checking in guests. We were trying to empathize and understand that a breakfast spot on a Sunday morning can be super busy. But a restaurant that is as popular as IHop should have better control of the situation. No was sent to our table to see if we had been served our meal. We have been served our coffee/ tea only. I should have known there was going to be a problem when the coffee pot was placed on the table without giving me a mug. The young woman went to check on our meal. After what appeared to be more than five minutes, she re-appeared. She was apologetic and embarrassed to explain that our meal had been canceled or shown it had already gone out. She was looking at the guests in front of us to see if they had received our meal. These guests, enjoying a meal, were seated after my husband and I. We were told the coffee and tea were on the house. So needless to say, we left without a meal and...
Read moreWe decided to try the new IHOP in Danbury for breakfast, only to be very, very disappointed!! Arrived at 8:20 am, got seated in a back room. We were the first ones in that room. Shortly after that, another couple got seated. Their order was taken before ours, even though they pointed out to the waitress we were there first. Once our order was taken, other people in larger groups, started to arrive. The table behind us, who came in 15 minutes after us, got their order taken and received before us. By now, we have been waiting for almost 40 minutes for our meal. We asked the waitress what was taking so long and pointed out that people who arrrived after us have eaten and our leaving. We told her our food better come out next. The wait staff starting bringing out food for another table. We got up to leave, but not before we asked to speak to the manager, who happened to be our waitress. She apologized and gave us our order for free, which ended up being wrong. All said and done, we waited for close to an hour and never received our breakfast. We have eaten at many IHOPS, but never had this kind of service ever!!! WE WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS...
