Dollar Tree — Local services in Danbury

This place is usually outstanding. The service is outstanding and it used to be a great deal for your money. But now they are basically just a discount store. Dollar tree used to pride itself on selling everything in the store for a dollar. In fact they used to sell the newspapers at a loss so they could in fact sell them for a dollar. Now with the inflation under President Biden sending prices skyrocketing, they actually had to increase their prices to $1.25. however they have now also dedicated several isles in each store for high cost items. And they are now selling items as expensive as 7 or $10. The Dollar tree used to be great because you could actually go there and buy NAME BRAND items for a dollar! The increased without 25 is understandable considering the out-of-control inflation we had under the prior administration. However they are now selling many of these name brand items for the same price that I would pay in Stop & Shop or ShopRite. The way it is now, any name brand item, that I used to be able to buy for a dollar in the Dollar tree or at worst, $1.25, is now being sold in the Dollar tree for the same prices as everyone else. I called before going into the store to ask if I could pay to blow up helium balloons purchased on Amazon and was told “Absolutely, no problem!”. Once I arrived at the store, the girl behind the counter said she had to ask but did not think she could do it and then spent twenty minutes blowing up balloons for a customer who arrived after me while I patiently waited. I was eventually greeted by an angry manager who was yelling at me that they would NOT blow up any balloons other than the ones on the wall. Great place to shop for all your favors and supplies. I get weak in the dollar store and always shop for more than what i plan for but one of the cashier's got my sick by using her saliva to grab and open packing bags. I think that's so disgusting and will cause spreading of germs/ flu, comment colds and such. What happened to a small bowl of water or hand sanitizer for a moist grip? I asked kindly to not use her saliva and to sanitized her hands please. This cashier tells me that hand sanitizer is 99 cents.
