I've been eating from Ascona pizza for some time now (over 2 years). They do have a somewhat tasty pizza, but I find it to be way over priced for what you are receiving. I've only ever had take out from their establishment and they can never get my name right in the computer. On several be occasions I have asked them to correct the spelling and they seem to keep getting it wrong (feels like they do it on purpose) Today I decided to dine here for the first time and I'm sure it will be my last time. I couldn't locate a hostess when I walked in so I had to stand at the counter for a bit before someone came to help me. First question was "are you here to pick up"? I replied no. "I would like to dine in". Ok replied the wait staff. "What do you want" I would like to sit down and look over the menu. The staff replied that I would have to come back up and order when I was ready. I guess I would never know what the specials were as we are definitely on our own in this establishment.
After I decided what I would like I got up and had to stand in a line of about 10 people to order my meal. After that I had to stand in a separate line to order a drink. They also wanted to hang onto my credit card for the tab like we're going to run out the door.
This is definitely not the customer experience I had expected from any restaurant for a dine in experience. Especially one that is in Danville close to Blackhawk.
Needless to say I will not be returning here for a dine in experience and now I'm completely turned off and most likely will not order take out anymore.
Currently dreading having to get out of my seat to stand in line to get another Iced tea!!!
Well, it gets worse... After they dropped the undercooked pizza on the table they ran off before I could even ask for plates, napkins or cutlery. So I had to stand in line again to get those items.
When it came time to check out I had to stand in line to pay and ask for a box. They asked what # I had and I had no clue. I told them my name( which was also on the credit card they were holding) This wasn't good enough for them and that they needed to have my # which was at the table. To make things even worse, when I asked for a box they just pointed to a stack near the door.
To reiterate, this will definitely be my last dining experience here and most likely will not be returning for take out!!!!
With each experience I expressed that I was more than dissatisfied with my customer experience and nobody ever seemed to care or even bring it to the attention of the...
Read morePizza chefs are artists. The dough is their canvas, and the sauce is their sky. They uses pepperoni or onions as the highlights. And finally, the oven of as the thin layer of glazing fluid that makes the piece shine. Artists receive almost identical trainings but most are doomed to fail. It’s the details in the works that truly determines their success. I tried to appreciate the work, but Ascona is a failed artist; every single item is missing some crucial detail. From a plate of wings that are cold near the bone to a pizza that lacks flavors. There is always something missing. Chefs here are youthful, full of energy but lacking in experience. The whole restaurant is filled with kind workers and gives off a very nostalgic atmosphere that is bound to draw families in. While the service is always accommodating, it doesn’t change the fact that the food here...
Read moreAscona's, you sure have some yummy pizza. I have come a few times with two of the boys I nanny, who are 4 and 10, and they love the pizza. We order a small pepperoni and two drinks every time and the total is 25 dollars?! That is insane. I can go to another local place and get a large with two toppings and two drinks for the same price, actually a bit less. Also, the people here aren't very friendly, I spend more effort asking about their day and such than they do with me, talk about horrible customer service. I honestly would have given them 4 stars if they fixed this. You would think they see their yelp reviews and do something about it. I will come back with my boyfriend one of these days, and I'll try and see if there's...
