Big bazaar knows full well that they are the only Indian grocery store in Danville. They are a big rip off, they sell Gopi Full fat yogurt for $6.99, this same product sells for $4.50 at India cash and carry and numerous other stores across Bay Area sell this item for much less. Unfortunately, no maximum retail price applies to Indian grocery stores in the US.
The owner accepted that they were ripping customers off - their excuse “the rents are very high in Danville.”
Please save your money and head over to one of the Indian grocery stores in San Ramon or Dublin.

Usually delicious, but this time caused ongoing stomach cramps and diarrhea all day. Unfortunately, I know it was the samosas, those being the only food I had eaten that day. Food prep and safety needs to be a top priority especially when selling fresh cooked food such as this, and can become a serious issue for the elderly with food borne illnesses (Hep A, salmonella etc.) leading to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fever which can cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalances in any person, but especially in this (elderly) vulnerable population. The store has very good about of options for all Indian grocery items. We also purchased fresh samosas from here and it tasted pretty good.
