Dairy Hart — Restaurant in Danville

Wow talk about bringing back memories my papa and nanny use to take me to this place when I was a child and now I am trying it for the first time as an adult and it taste even better then I remember! If you want good home cooking like a mom and pops then you come to the right place here at dairy heart of Danville Va . I had the ribeye sandwich and I asked the lady that cooked me this delicious sandwich how is it? Well I did not even have time to take a picture because I ate it to quick that was how good it was tender and juicy and I got the combo too with a sweet tea, I feel like in my opinion it is the best and sweetest tea in town. Furthermore to wrap this up I do have only one complaint it was how the one worker, do not know his name but had red hair and freckles was treating regulars like royalty and smiling but treat new people like yeah what do you want kinda of attitude he was definitely not friendly to me but his co worker that first served me was and speaking of that the worker the one that was disrespectful wants to mumble under his breath about his other co worker the nice one. I understand it has been hot days and I understand if you work with someone who is only 16 and not all days are good days but give the kid a break and learn to appreciate what is around you and work on your customer service skills and learn how to be patient and be a team player because you never know who is listening and watching. Let me start by saying , I am a regular at dairy hart. Today ,07/04/2025 , I went just for an ice cream cone and was greeted with extreme rudeness from a lady I have never encountered before. The first thing she said was “it’s going to be 30 minutes for any orders” . Just out of curiosity , I asked why and she was very nasty in her response stating because they were so busy . I said “even for ice cream “ she then became very snarky stating that she didn’t know all I wanted was ice cream even though she never asked. Once she rang me up she snatched my card from me and slammed the window in my face to the point the person on the phone with me could hear it . She made my ice cream so poorly the whole thing fell over before I could even taste . Maybe they are having a rough day . May they need to get new employees . But I won’t be returning for a...

As people have stated earlier, this building is dilapidated - don't expect a fancy exterior. And as others have stated, the service is excruciatingly slow.

But it is the food that is even worse. I ordered a hot fudge sundae. I asked what came on it and was told "anything you want." When I put the order in, then they said all the stuff I asked for was extra. Their hot fudge sundae consists of ice milk and hot fudge - no cake, no whipped cream, no nuts, no layering of the fudge. It was a cup of ice cream and some chocolate poured on top.

And the "soft serve ice cream" is ice milk. It is not ice cream as it is mostly water.
