We had a very disappointing experience eating here, primarily because of terrible service but the food was underwhelming as well. We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated at about 630pm on a Saturday with about 10 tables visibly empty. We had to remind the hostess to provide a high chair twice as my wife stood at the table baby in arm for far too long. Once seated, we had to flag down a waitress after seeing multiple servers and bussers enter and exit our area without greeting us. When we finally were able to catch one of their eyes, she was visibly annoyed as we were obviously not her responsibility. As we sat there over the next five minutes, other parties were seated, greeted, and provided drinks quickly. Maybe they were locals? This left a terrible impression. In any case, our food was delivered relatively quickly but we had to remind them to give us, you know, napkins and silverware. Twice. We never did figure out who was our server since noone came back to check on us until our meal was over. Totally subpar. As far as the food was concerned, the chicken soup was boring, the steak fajitas were bland and overcooked. The guacamole and salsa were passable, and the refried beans were delicious. Unfortunately we can not recommend this restaurant and we...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Nido in Danville, a hidden gem that serves up some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine I've ever tasted. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home.
The food here is truly a standout. Every dish bursts with flavor and authenticity, from the perfectly seasoned tacos to the rich and savory mamas chicken soup. You can tell that each recipe has been passed down through generations, with ingredients that are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Whether you're a fan of spicy salsas or prefer something milder, there's something on the menu for everyone.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the owner. Julia personally greets every guest with a genuine smile and makes it a point to ensure everyone feels like part of the family. During our visit, she even took the time to chat with us and take a photo with our kids, which was such a thoughtful touch. Itās clear that she cares deeply about her customers and the community.
If you're looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience with incredible food and a welcoming atmosphere, El Nido is the place to go. We'll definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOMG! what a delightful experience.. Been living in the dark for 40 years and not trying this great authentic Mexican restaurant. The service is top notch with many smiles on a cloudy day when I went there for lunch. The food came out hot and fresh. I tried the fish tacos, rice and beans. My wife had the Enchiladas and Taco combo plate again fresh and both dishes served with a piping hot plate.. That is the way Mexican food should be served!! I came there hungry so I also ordered the shredded Chicken soup and it is a very healthy portion with all the fresh veggies and of course leftovers to take home LOL.. After having this nice scrumptious meal. My wife and I met Julia and her mother Serria who started this business for 39 years. What a beautiful family!! Take a look at the family portraits on the back wall 9 in the family and you will see a very close family with the father who started the business.. Don't hesitate and try this restaurant when you get some time and you will be pleasantly surprised. Nice views of the Diablo mountains.. Plenty of seating either inside or outside take your pick. Happy...
