Drove 45 miles out to a well known restaurant in East Bay. The food was good, but the lost and found and their internal communication were really poor. We had our dinner on 7/7 and my daughter left a memorable unicorn headband gift (it's meaningful to her) at the restaurant. I called the restaurant about 30 minutes into our drive, the gentlemen who picked up the phone had stated they locate the headband where I told to hold on for few days that I will go pick them up. He asked for my name so other staff know who the headband belongs to. Couple days later when I return to pick up the lost item, the on duty manager Aaron couldn't find them and she's kind enough to make few calls and texts, but no one seem to know where is located. I left my number in the event they find them, however, few days have gone by and not even a call updating the status. Today, I drove another 45 miles to find out if anyone had seen the headband, but unfortunately, non of the staff knows. This is somehow frustrating and upsetting. A poor communication between the staff and to customer which all result in lack of training. Hope they can improve the lost and found service...
Read moreWe are frequent patrons. We loved this place until tonight. Bad night. While I can respect teaching younger children the value of a job, the two kids greeting and seating people were arguing with each other, were very disorganized and weren't following through on simple requests like wiping a table down before seating guests. We had to hunt down another waitress to wipe down our table (it had food on it). Then, we asked for a veggie mushroom pizza. It took over 25 minutes and then contained pieces of pepperoni. My wife, a vegetarian, brought it to the attention of the waitress. Instead of apologizing, she argued saying the pizza was not made near any meat. We showed her the meat. She just waived it off. Even getting water was a struggle tonight. Maybe this was a one-off night but Melo's looked totally ill-equipped to handle the crowd. They have typically been very respectful of vegetarians (we are a mixed family...some eat meat, some don't). Not tonight. Unfortunately, they lost some regulars. Please get it...
Read moreMelo's is fantastic. The other night was the first time I actually went in had my dinner there. I had linguine with shrimp and zucchini in a garlic butter sauce. It was absolutely delicious. The server I had was exceptional and very attentive. I had a minimal wait time before she approached my table to take my drink order. When she brought my drink it was accompanied by some delicious French bread. I also received my dinner within 10 minutes after ordering and it was piping hot. I ordered tiramisu for dessert, it was OK. It was a little too soggy for my taste, but it had a very nice flavor. When it was time for me go one very nice front of the house staff hurried to help me with the door due to me using a scooter and it was a bit difficult to push it open from inside. They are always very sweet and helpful at this Melo's, in Danville, whether you are eating in or doing carry-out. I highly recommend this Melo's to dine in...
