I recently visited Red Crab Juicy Seafood and had a rather mixed experience that left me with a lot of thoughts to share. Let's start with the positives.
The food was decent, though nothing exceptional. I found the seafood to be fresh, but the preparation lacked the flavor and creativity I was hoping for. Overall, I’d rate the food 3 out of 5 stars. It was okay, but not something that would make me rush back for more.
As for the atmosphere, I appreciated the effort they put into creating a lively environment, especially with the karaoke setup. The concept of having karaoke was fun and could be a great time for those who enjoy singing or watching others perform. However, the execution could use some refinement. While the idea is cool, the karaoke was unnecessarily loud, making it difficult to have any conversation or fully enjoy our meal. It was almost as if the volume was cranked up to an uncomfortable level, which detracted from what could have been an enjoyable experience. I'd give the atmosphere 3 out of 5 stars.
One of the highlights was the beer. The $2 draft beer was a great deal, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It was nice to have a cold, refreshing beer at such an affordable price, especially considering how expensive drinks can be at similar places. This aspect added a bit of value to the overall experience.
Unfortunately, where the experience really fell short was the service. The waitress who served us was notably rude to my wife, which was disappointing. Not only did she seem disinterested in providing a welcoming experience, but she also made us feel rushed, as if she was more interested in turning over the table than ensuring we had a good time. This left a sour taste in our mouths, and I have to give the service 2 out of 5 stars. Hospitality is a crucial part of dining out, and it’s a shame when it’s lacking.
Overall, while there were some aspects of the visit that I enjoyed, such as the affordable beer and the potential for a fun atmosphere, the overall experience left much to be desired. I hope the management takes this feedback into consideration, as the restaurant has potential but needs to make some improvements, especially in terms of service and managing the volume of...
Read moreREAD THROUGHLY* On 03/28/25, my friend and I traveled an hour to Danville to eat at this restaurant for the 2nd time. Our first experience was great.. this time not so much. We both ordered seafood boils, I got the daily special and my friend got a build your own boil with crab legs and sausage. My friends boil came out wrong with shrimp in it which she did not order so we sent it back and another boil with crab & sausage came out immediately. The crab legs in our boils were brown and the shell was very chewy with little meat in them. They were so small and could not even be cracked, we had to peel the shell off basically. Despite this experience, we decided not to complain because we both work in the restaurant industry and know how things happen sometimes but this turned out to be a big mistake. My friend later that evening began throwing up profusely and getting really sick having to go to the doctor the next day. The doctor did diagnose her with FOOD POISIONING that she did get from Red Crab Juicy Seafood in Danville. After discovering this we decided to reach out to the restaurant to make a complaint about our experience the day before only to be told by the general manager that there was nothing she could do for us because we didn’t report anything while we were there and instructing us to send a copy of the doctors note in for “insurance purposes”. I felt really disregarded by the general managers remarks and felt that she did not care that someone was made sick by food that was provided under her supervision. For this I would not recommend this place to anyone else, I understand things happen but I feel you should always go above and beyond to make things right with...
Read moreI never write reviews… but this experience was so wrong.. especially sense I used to be a server and I know how restaurants operate. I usually come to this place once a week. And yesterday I ordered the pound of shrimp with corn and potatoes to go.. I get home and one of my potatoes was hard and black on the inside.. I ate around 8 or 9 of the shrimp (not all of my shrimp) before I bit into the nasty potatoe… I went back and told the new manager Anne.. idk about anyone else… but if I get something wrong with my food that disgust me, then take the whole thing back and give me a new order. And I never really send food back… but this potatoe was disgusting!! Since I had shrimp, a whole other potatoe and corn not eaten..( I completely lost my appetite when I bit into the potatoe smh…) she takes my bag and says “I can give you new potatoes,” but not replace the remaining food. I had shrimp left in the bag. She comes back and refuses to give me any higher up managers information to contact. I was a regular customer and their new manager is horrible… definitely don’t want to come back. I was so displeased that I didn’t even take the potatoes she brought out… left that bag right on the counter. (She Didn’t even replace the shrimp I had left!) I walked away as she proceeded to laugh at me.. instead of showing any sympathy when I spend my money to eat there.. ridiculous! not to mention I didn’t get rude, yell, curse or anything and she was...
