We stopped here yesterday on a road trip. I took 40 extra minutes out of a 13 hr drive to go here. I haven't been to a Starbucks in years. I am prediabetic and on keto, and I left a $5 tip for a special request drink, inspired by some posts in a keto group - Green drink with no sweetener, and with cream instead of milk. I keep monk fruit with me. The barista said they didn't make it that way. She said they had coconut milk that had no sugar. So I did that. The young man making my drink put syrup in it. I saw this and asked him to remake it, and he did. Unfortunately, Starbucks' almond and coconut milk both DO have sugar. Apparently the staff are not taught this. I felt my mind fogging up before I got back to I74. When you don't eat sugar, it hits you like a freight train I ended up pitching the drink, as I had 400 miles to drive and could not afford the grog. And I probably won't ever go back to a Starbucks. It is too much trouble. The tip didn't even matter. I wish people understood that "no sugar" means NO, as in ZERO sugar. And keto does not permit any artificial sweeteners besides monk fruit and stevia, and I have the gene that makes stevia taste bitter. Yes, I really wanted NO sugar, and NO carbs. Cream. And for godsakes, if McDonalds and Wendy's has keto down, what is wrong with Starbucks? I only gave one extra star because I think they...
Read moreMy mom and I went into Starbucks hopeful of a nice experience with a good reliable cup of Joe. After placing her order, She waited approximately 15 minutes and returned to the counter to ask for her order. The young bearded man asked her to place her mask on. She didn’t hear his muffled voice under his mask. She proceeded to tell him that she hadn’t received her coffee order yet, after waiting inside for a while. He rudely said to her, and i quote,” that’s not an answer to the question I asked you.” In the meantime the person ahead of her asked for a muffin and this same man picked up the muffin using a glove as a napkin instead of properly donning the glove to retrieve said muffin. The audacity of this man behind the counter at Starbucks to be so rude and unkind about an issue that has caused us to have to implement masks in the first place is lacking common decency. My mother asked for her money back, coffee-less and we left. She will never return to (Danville )...
Read moreThoughts; As a previous short term Starbies employee here, this is not an easy job! From the orders/amounts/steps for each individual drink to the very rude people who get upset if you don’t make their TikTok drink just how it looks or taste, it’s stressful and not near enough pay. Be patient with your barista, lots of training happens!
Currently; I adore several of the peeps at this location. Not only did I meet great people, I learned a lot about pronouns, AND learned how to make my own coffee at home. The staff is patient and very kind. I personally love now that there are no masks now so I can see the smiling faces, it helps. Shania, Em, Ley, & Sabrina nailed my order today and it helped make this dreary day better in the social work...
