Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Davenport

New menu sounds more exciting than it is. New Brisket seems flavorless and bland. We had arrived around 8:45 for our meal. We ordered Buffalo wings (which tasted about the same as they had, which is fairly good), then we tried the new quesadillas and brisket nachos. Quesadillas were good, definitely different than the previous quesadillas, they were not served with sour cream or salsa, so be prepared to ask ahead of time if you'd prefer. When the apps came out, we got the buffalo wings and quesadillas right away, the nachos came with our meal (even though we ordered them all at the same time). For our meals we ordered 3 cheese chicken penne, which is our all time favorite. Well unfortunately, it tasted like they switched suppliers and the sauce was much dryer and more bland. Also, as a side note, I'm 4 months pregnant, and mentioned that to the server when I was disappointed by the fact that they didn't have much selection for caffeine and alcohol free beverages. When I reordered my second limeaid, they brought me an alcoholic beverage by mistake. We decided that the chocolate lava meltdown would redeem the meal, its another favorite... unfortunately that too has changed, and not for the better. The next meal I have at applebees will be when they redo their menu... for the better. It wasn't all bad though, the manager did take off $12, which covered 2 of the apps...

Food was great but I can’t say the same about the service. Came here last night around 6/7ish with my girlfriend and the first thing the host said (who was also our waitress)was “how many for you ladies today?” I found that kind of annoying bc I’m a guy I just have longer hair. But I feel like she did it to be malicious which was weird and she did it throughout the entire visit. I didn’t even get a chance to correct her bc she only checked on us a total of twice and was not kind when she did and would walk away very quickly. My girlfriend asked for ranch for our appetizer and the server went and stood in the corner talking to other servers (it looked like a manager was over there too, the restaurant had a total of two tables in it ) for about 10 mins before she walked back to a different table and I tried to get her attention to which she straight up ignored me. She eventually came back and said she “forgot” the ranch . The food was good at least but her attitude and service was horrible, and that’s coming from someone who works in food service. This girl did not like us at all and she let us know it! If you can’t handle being kind or mature to people when they have done nothing wrong, then don’t work in the service industry. I like coming here so I hope I don’t get her as a server again, probably just going to stick to...

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I live in Illinois. We do not have many Applebees near where we live anymore. We were so excited to have dinner there. We were sat right away. They have a 2 for $20 deal. You get an appetizer and 2 "full size" meals. We ordered and also ordered baked french onion soup. When we got our soup it was unmelted cheese, a piece of bread and onions. No broth. So we asked our waiter if he could get us different soup since we did not get soup the first time. We wait another 10 mins or so. He brings us new bowls. The cheese again is barely melted. By this time we just say whatever and begin to eat. My soup is freaking cold!!!! like fresh out of the can cold!!! I push it to the side. I am not eating it. Our waiter comes over with out appetizer. I tell him about my soup he says sorry. Our appetizer was really good. But than our food came before we even had like 3 bites of it. My food was hot and so very good, until I put my hand on my plate and almost threw up. The plate was caked with crusty food!!!!! I spit out the food into a napkin. GROSS!!! My mom's food was not even hot. We were completely fed up by this time that we said we would pay for our drinks and appetizer. They were nice enough to not make us pay for a thing since we did leave there hungry.
