My family and I were very excited to try this establishment upon reading the reviews and seeing the photos of the food of this restaurant. I have many positive things to say about this restaurant. The atmosphere is very chic and metropolitan and well balanced with a friendly and welcoming staff. The food is very good and imaginative if slightly more than one would like to pay for a midwestern breakfast but you do get to enjoy new spins on traditional dishes that I have yet to see other places. The service was fair but friendly and very knowledgeable. My only real complaint is that there is a small difference in pricing between what is listed on all the menu verses what one is actually charged when you receive the bill. All the menus reflect a, “cash price” but this is NOT posted (at least I did not see it; to be fair, it may have been present on the door, window, or extremely small print on the menu but neither I nor anyone in my party noticed this) until our bill arrived and noted that all the dish and dish prices were “slightly” rounded up and the bottom of the bill had 2 SEPARATE TOTALS. 1-Total for Cards (Bank, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit, etc.) and 2-Total for Cash. This was not explained to me until I asked at the register. I understand that this is now being the new norm to pass this service charge of accepting card payments on to the customer but there is usually a prominent sign stating this at the time of ordering. It just would have been helpful to know had it been advertised on the website so that I would have known to bring more...
Read moreI entered the establishment behind a gentleman who walked straight back to the kitchen at 1:59pm. My friend and I also arrived and inquired whether they were still serving. The waitress confirmed that they were open and their service would continue for another 30 minutes. The gentleman lifted his hands in a gesture as though questioning the presence of us. Previously, this location possessed a pleasant atmosphere, and I felt a little taken aback by the encounter. The waitresses appeared to be confused as well. I was unsure if he was the owner, but the encounter was uncomfortable. Eventually, our food was served, and the cook and crew members, including the gentleman who arrived just before us, came and sat in the dining area at approximately 2:18pm. During this time, the same gentleman consistently gazed at us, which made us feel uneasy. We became disinterested and ceased eating, walked up to the register to pay, and I inquired of one of the servers, who stated that the gentleman "is one of the owners of the establishment." This was one of the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experiences we've encountered in the QC. The establishment closed at 2:30pm, and we left in our car at 2:26pm. I am uncertain if they had planned to close precisely at 2:30pm. Hopefully, the other locations in the QC are...
Read moreDetails of visit, have been there several times since our kids are going to St. Ambrose College. Walked in gave our name on the list and waited our turn. Will not do reservations which I understand. So the rest of the story, sat down next to hosts stand the owner kept coming up and interrupting the hostess while she was taking names and checking out customers to make more to turn tables. A group of 18 came in hostess asked for a name and wrote it down, informed them that it will be a little bit to get them seated in different areas of restaurant no problem ( oh we called and the owner said he would get us right in). Well you did just that, bumped 3 other parties to serve 18 and left 12 hanging. Next couple walks in and owner asks how many and takes them directly to seats at the bar. While other customers watched. Disrespect to long time customers so fly in sports groups get special treatment, don't worry about it. Issue solved 3 groups left and 2 other groups were told while walking in, they left as well. We own a business as well, you treat customers all the same whether they are spending $5 or $500,000 and 1st in gets attention 1st. Good luck in winning over new customers.
FYI. Thanks We Ended up at the Links restaurant just north of your restaurant. Score a 5+ all...
