Pancheros Mexican Grill - Davenport Utica Ridge — Restaurant in Davenport

This Pancheros Mexican Grill has been at this location for over a decade by my memory. I used to really enjoy their fresh burritos, especially as they and other similar restaurants were beginning to become popular across the Midwest in the early 2000s. I felt like a burrito today and as such, opted to relive some old burrito memories by visiting this location.

The location is as it's always been, sitting right on the corner of a strip mall on Utica Ridge Road. The building, both inside and out, is clean in both hygiene and appearance. The light yellow and black theming with wood accents is easy on the eyes, especially combined with the scattered placement of incandescent lighting, some of which is directly attached to walls on fixtures while others are hung from the ceiling and partially obscured by cylindrical metallic shades. The ceiling area has that modern style of exposed HVAC with no drop tiles, which aides in the illusion of the space being larger than it actually is. On the whole, I like it.

I opted for a steak burrito with fajita vegetables, complimented with black beans, salsa verde, and corn. The burrito was as delicious as I remember, but with the added benefit of being stirred together before being wrapped up. I hadn't tried this before and really enjoyed it. Contributing was the balanced spicing and seasoning of all the ingredients - nothing tasted too salty or extra spicy.

I'd definitely return for another burrito in the future. The space is easy to get to and the meal was the perfect size for what I needed for lunch....

I was there today with my family. Horrible costumer service. No one greeted us at all when we got up to the line. There was 5 people working there and not a single hello from any of them. I love the food here but wow the customer service is not good at all anymore. We went through the line today and nothing but rude workers, they all looked like they hated their jobs, acted like talking to costmers was ruining their day. No one was friendly at all. My daughters got chips and salsa and the chips were old, stale and not good at all. After the way they all acted when we went through the line, no one wanted to go back up and tell them about how the chips were. Last year we went there and there was a guy who knew our order (we used to go that much) and was really nice and would always make a point to greet and talk to...

Their employees have discriminated against my medical condition and said that they cannot serve me. This is the second time in the last couple of months. It’s not only sad, but I had planned on buying my boyfriends shift meals tonight which would have easily been a couple hundred dollar order. I’m sad to say, but the first time this happened, I said I wouldn’t probably come back due to how I was treated. I chose to try to come back tonight because sometimes as business owners we cannot control how our employees treat customers and at this point I’m so disheartened at how I was treated both time. I will honestly probably choose elsewhere. Discrimination isn’t ok no...
