This review is for the Ari Bakery Cafe/Paris Morning Bakery (both names are on door), located in Miramar:
This had always been a chill spot to read, gather, & study with teas and baked goods, a place my friends and colleagues have hung out quite a bit, but under the new management the food is unclean. I have seen flies hovering over sealed baked goods on the display table. Preparing my drink without feeling the need to wash ones hands after handling a string of customer orders at the register was the final straw.
PUBLIC BEWARE OF UNSANITARY ACTIVITY: Cashier handles the register then prepare drinks without washing hands or using gloves (although a sink is right behind the register to do so). And owner doesn’t seem to care. New ownership do better. ———— The girl that worked the cash register intended to prepare the drinks without first washing her hands and doesn’t think she needed to.
When asked if she’s going to wash her hands she responded she doesn’t have to cause they use a spoon to put the ingredients in the blender & the ingredients are packaged… meanwhile she took the blender cover with her dirty hands & threw it inside the blender to be used for the drink, gathered the cup, other tools, and packaged ingredients all with her unwashed hands that worked the cash register.
I had to tactfully insist that she wash her hands, as it’s normal to do so preparing other ppl’s food, which she reluctantly did then began preparing the tea with an attitude she slams down a jug & shut the small fridge with force.
The owner was outside bringing in supplies & had come inside earlier with a few items before the order was taken, she had spoken to the said cashier in English, and likely didn’t note the few customers including myself who overheard her instructions & well aware she speaks English.
Later when I left I saw the owner outside. I told her I come by often & my friends too, but as I began to inform her about the incident & she realized it’s a complaint the owner immediately responds smiling & repeatedly saying “no speak English, no speak English”, I then communicated in broken Spanish & she still pretended she had difficulty understanding. I told her never mind as I know she speaks English, I’ll just file a formal complaint & public review, as this was privately bringing a matter to her attention so she could offer training to the girl, make her aware the cashier doesn’t feel it’s necessary to cleanse her hands before preparing the drinks or handling the food which is unsanitary.
It is clear current management doesn’t care and have no concern for sanitation.
Imagine how they handle the meals & soups that are prepared in the enclosed kitchen area if they can’t prepare the boba teas in front of you with clean hands.
And no wonder flies have been hovering over the sealed breads & baked goods on display on the table. They probably don’t wipe that table down…
I’ll no longer buy here, especially when management doesn’t seem to think sanitation is important, too many signs of...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of Paris Baguette so I knew I had to check out Paris Morning Bakery. I've been to Paris Baguette in both Seoul and up north in Georgia and plenty of bakeries in Korea.
Paris Morning Bakery is similar, but definitely smaller with a smaller selection of baked goods and seems to lean a little more towards Chinese baked goods than just Korean.
We ended up getting a really tasty Dongle Morning Bread and I ordered a Ginger Honey Tea which came to about $9. The tea came promptly and the bread was delicious and more than enough for 2 people even in the small size.
The only thing keeping this place from being 5 stars is really the price which was more than Paris Baguette and more limited on options. I understand the need to price higher and this is South Florida.
It wouldn't stop me from going, but a bread roll like is like $7 - no way I don't feel a little discomfort swiping on that even if its delicious.
The cafe is really nice inside - definitely captures a Korean shop environment and this is a great place to catchup with a friend or go on a casual date.
If you're feeling a craving for Korean desserts or sweets in general, I'd recommend this place.
ProTip: Breads are 30% off from open to 11AM and 9PM to close so that's a...
Read moreVery comfy cafe with fresh Korean pastries. It seems like they’ve improved their fluffiness problem with some of their pastry that other reviews have mentioned. They were all very soft fresh and satisfying.
Music is not too loud like others have mentioned.
Coffee is not good. It seems like very few cafes in Broward can get espresso based drinks right. I asked for a small cappuccino, and requested they put it in their 6 oz lavazza mug, as I don’t like too much milk and this mug is the traditional European cappuccino size. The owner and barista insisted it wouldn’t fit, even though I asked for less milk (she said that the 6 OUNCE mug is for espresso only.) Instead of arguing I dropped it and get it in a 12 oz paper cup. The foam is 40% of the cup, not dense and pure white. The milk is scorched and scalded and the espresso does not taste good.
Additionally, the owner took a phone call and was very loudly discussing/arguing over something in the middle of the dining room. It would’ve been more professional to take the call in the back.
The stars are for the pastry and decor. They have a bit...
