**** UPDATE *
Hello I would like to update all on situation below. Since the below post I did want to let all know that after speaking with Denise and team I was compensated for the kennel cough expenses we incurred. I want to thank Denise and team for their help and professionalism. We have not resolved the Open Fontanelle but was promised we would revisit this when the Max is 8 months or so as they believe it may close up. We think this is certainly fair. Thank you Denise and team and we will be in contact in a few months if the open fontanelle does not close up. We have updated the star rating in good faith and based on responses and actions received from ownership.
BEWARE! We came to Teacups, Puppies and Boutique and fell in love with a beautiful Maltese puppy. We were not in the market at all but ended up wanting to get him for my wife and we also had another Maltese we planned we can later breed them. The store looks very luxurious and inviting and felt good in the store. We asked many questions regarding the puppy and the staff seemed very concerned in the Health and well being of the puppy. That of course made us feel great! They asked us to wait a week before receiving the puppy as he had loose stool and they stated they wanted to make sure he was fully healthy before going home. On pickup day we were of course very happy and we had an orientation were it was disclosed that the dog had an Open Fontanelle which is an opening of the skull that usually heals by the time puppy goes home but some puppies can take up to 8 months to close. We were very concerned at this point as this is the first we hear of this issue with the dog. We spoke to both owners and they had assured us that this is not an issue and we would not have issue breeding at all. After a lengthy meeting re-assuring us we went home with our Puppy and they told us that there was nothing to worry about that if there was any issue they would take care of it and to take the puppy to our Vet. They kept reminding us that all they care about is the Dogs they sell which again made us feel comfortable. After seeing out Vet our Vet had a very different opinion stating that the opening was not small and that at this point they doubted it would seal. Also told us that the dog could never be bred and that could have health issues like seizures and could never bump his head. They sent us home with paperwork as well as much research on the case from the VCA. We reported the issue immediately to the Store and owner with all paperwork from our Vet. They are now stating that their contract states its a companion dog and not meant for breeding and their vet said it was fine. Our Vet states its congenital and will pass along to puppies as well as all the research i did says same. To Finalize , after paying for $6k for a dog with congenital issues that are clearly stated by Vet and online publications , Teacup , Puppies and Boutique are showing their true colors and not standing by their pets or customers. We are now in the process of legal counsel due to their lack of commitment and they not adhering to Contract they brought up to me for selling a Puppy with Congenital issues. To this day i still have not received my paperwork from the breeder as well which they state is local and was promised the paperwork. Stay Away and do not believe what is said as they will not honor...
Read moreAt one of the most difficult times of my life, I decided to special order a puppy hoping that it would give my life more meaning-A very tall order, and one that I wouldn't encourage anyone to make. After an exhaustive search, I found Teacups, Puppies and Boutique. I placed a VERY specific order for a Chihuahua puppy with the Donna the owner. Even though we only had one conversation, I immediately knew I was in good hands after I spoke with her. I trusted her and I felt confident that with her wealth of knowledge would find me the perfect puppy.
Donna told me that it could take weeks, or several months to find a dog that filled my requirements. While I waited I called Donna and her staff several times a day asking frantic questions, they assuaged any fears I had, and encouraged me to call or text if I had even the slightest concern. Donna was even kind enough to give me her personal telephone number so I could text her my multitude of questions. Not only was the staff, patience, kind, courteous, and knowledgeable, they became almost like a second family.
I didn't have long to wait long, because three short weeks later, Donna sent me a picture of a puppy that looked like it had been specifically designed for me in look and, more importantly in temperament.
While I waited for my puppy to be old enough to go home with me, the staff took the time to send me pictures, and video of her every, single, day. They even dressed her up in outfits because they knew that I was excited to have a dog that would enjoy clothes. This was invaluable because it gave me an opportunity to bond and fall in love with a puppy that I hadn't yet met.
When my puppy was ready to be picked up, I flew to Florida and entered the Boutique for the first time. The Boutique is stunningly beautiful, one could spend hours in it marveling at the exquisite items they sell to pamper your pet in every way. I walked up to the front desk and didn't even need to introduce myself, the entire staff knew my name and were welcoming and warm. After I was comfortable seated and given a beverage they introduced me to my puppy. She was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen, the staff beamed and offered me many tissues to wipe my tear-filled eyes, I was in love, she was everything I hoped she'd be and more. While my puppy was being bathed, the staff gave me a full tour of the boutique, ( never once did they try to push products on me which I greatly appreciated), offered me beverages, snacks, and took the time to tell me what a great dog-mom they thought I would be.
I was given a throughout and detailed orientation by a charming and extremely intelligent woman named E. She also answered all of my questions, and gave me her personal telephone number, and told me no matter what time of the day or night it was I could call her..
This has been one of the most magical experiences of my life. It's incredibly rare, and usually impossible, to ask for the moon and get it But that is exactly what Donna and her staff gave to me: A perfect dog: healthy, beautiful, sweet, loving and who brings joy to whoever she meets.
I wanted my life to have more meaning when I made the call to Teacups, Puppies and Boutique, and that is exactly what they gave me in the form of my puppy: Meaning and Unconditional love.
I cannot thank them enough or...
Read moreI found this store because I googled it so I thought good to write a google review. We left a message about a puppy that interested us right after the store closed around 7:10pm. . . The next morning the boutique returned my call and left a message. . . They were texting me photos of the puppy around 11am and I called and let them know that we could come to see the puppy after lunch. . . on the drive my daughter said "what if the puppy is sold" and I told her that was impossible or just fate. .. we walk into the store around 1:30pm, sit down and wait to be helped and they literally told us that another couple was purchasing the dog right there before our eyes! I thought that would be impossible, but it happened!
So they offered us a waiting list and told us we would find the perfect dog for us. . . and that it is meant to be. .. . well about a month later I called to check the status of our dog search for the perfect puppy and it just so happened they just received a brother and sister and I told them to hold the girl, we are on our way! And wouldn't you know she is the BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO US! WE LOVE THIS DOG! She is the sweetest, smartest, easy to train, super loving and adorable. This dog changed our life and they were right, we were not meant to have the puppy we thought we wanted, because fate brought us the perfect dog a little later and we just had to be patient.
We visited the puppy a few times before they released her to us, they wanted to make sure she was healthy and strong. They let us know the dad weighed 4 pounds and the mom 6, so that the puppy was not a teacup (which I thought I wanted but now I'm happy with the 3 pound Biewer Terrier we have at 6 months old).
The breeder was Sylvia and I literally text the store and tell them how grateful we are for her puppy. She is local and in the Davie area, the store even showed me a photo of Sylvia's dogs.
We also bought the Clearly Loved Pet's small acrylic house, but when talking to the manufacturer the medium is better for potty training on a wee wee pad. So when we added the extension and the bump, the potty training was magical, so I would not recommend the small but at least a medium if you want to potty train with the pad.
Once the boutique releases the puppy to you, you have to go on an interview so they could explain how to care for a tiny dog which was very useful. . . even if you are separated and the dog will be in 2 homes at times, they made both of us interview to make certain the puppy would be safe.
They really care about the health and safety of their dogs.
I recommend this process of matching families with their perfect dog. .. just be patient and they will find your perfect dog who will change your...
