I actually WANTED to like this place. I really did. I'm a NASCAR fan and I generally like these little one off, mom and pop places. However, the first thing I noticed here was that the place is pretty dirty and looks run down. There was about a year's worth of dust on the pool cue which was right next to my head. Then there was the NASTY looking ceiling tiles which had gotten wet and were sagging and black from what looks like mold. There is tons of yellowed old newspaper clippings and bits of Bill Elliott's wrecked cars stuck to the walls everywhere. Sadly most of it looks dirty and dusty. The pride of ownership seems to have faded quite a bit over the years.
They were out of several items we tried to order like.. onion rings. The food was simple enough and was hot and tasted good, but took a very abnormally long time to come out. Two tables that had come in after us had their food for a good 15 minutes before ours came out.
Our waitress was friendly and personable
Paying the bill took forever as they just have the one register and they were trying to take out orders of food at the same time.
I really hope that they take some time to fix the roof, replace most of the ceiling tiles, clean, paint and put some pride back into this place. As is...it's just too dingy and disorganized....kind of like NASCAR is these days. They've just been doing the same thing for so long...I don't think they even know there are problems.
I truly wish them the best in the future...we need these little...

The waitress was average I guess but not super friendly.
The first water I ordered had a piece of lettuce on top of the ice so that was the first bad sign. I just took it off and didn't complain since it wasn't the end of the world.
The food was better off as dog food. The baked potato still had dirt all over it which left a muddy trail on the plate. Felt like I was eating a baked potato at the beach.
The 4 grilled chicken tenders were served under their texas toast where I couldn't even see them plated because of how small they were. 4 tenders hidden by a single piece of bread. The tenders were so dry I choked I had to do the cough and drink manuever to get em down. You know when you have to crane your neck forward to get it down? That was me.
Texas Toast just tasted like grease on one side and plain on the other.
The salad was ok. Some of the lettuce was orange so it probably wasn't the most fresh.
Outside of that the place looked dirty, the chairs sucked and hurt your back, the TV's were tiny and looked like they were from the 90s, and the paint job looked like it was done by a child.
I would rather eat at McDonalds any day than go here ever again. I...

We were driving back home from Atlanta on championship race day and decided to take a detour to Dawsonville to potentially watch the race there, as I'm a fan of Chase Elliott.
Got there early, took some pictures, went inside, got a seat, looked at the menu, and were surprised to find that they did not serve beer. We had just had a late breakfast shortly before leaving Atlanta, so we weren't hungry. But we ordered a soda and an order of onion rings.
I will say this much: I'm pretty certain those were the best damn onion rings I've ever had.
Anyway, we figured we probably shouldn't stay. I didn't want to eat half a dozen burgers over the course of the day, but I also didn't want to take up real estate and not order anything. I bought a t-shirt and we left. It's a cool little spot full of so much history, but it could easily be a great place to actually sit and enjoy a race if they just served...
