Working in town, we only have a few selections of food. So on the advice of a fellow co-worker, an order was placed for pickup at exactly 11am. The nice gentleman on the phone provided suggestions, offered options, accomodated us with zero questins asked. I arrived at 11:45 on the dot and as I walked in, greeted with a smile and a formal introduction.
Food was prepared, stacked safely and you could tell portion zies were not an issue. One veg biryani and 1 chicken biryani to go please!!! Dawson County has missed options over the years on places to eat. Typically the same fast food options or the typical chain resturaunt that lines Hwy 400 end to end. This place is different. You can tell they are preparing the food fresh, they're putting their energy into the place and trying to carve out their place in Dawson.
While the interior needs a little work (nothing bad just slightly empty), dont let that take you away from the food. It's absolutely amazing. The prices and portions are on point and for lunch $9.99 or $11.99 for a full lunch meal is unheard of. So if you havent ever tried this style and flavor, give it a shot. And if you have, dont pass on this place when you're in town. You will 100% enjoy every bite and find yourself asking "What should I try...
Read morePros: Outdoor sitting area.
Cons: Pathetic service. Worst food ever had in any Indian restaurant @ Atlanta. Takes forever to serve food. Fine dining prices for poor service and food.
We order following Items: Chicken Lollipop - Crispy but no flavour or taste . Just blunt.
Chilli Paneer - Too much oil & Sauce without any taste.
Veg Manchuria : Just like paneer and veg balls not cooked properly .
Butter Naan: They are claiming fresh made but they are frozen naans.
Egg Burji: Too much oil and never heard/had such worst egg burji ever. Kudos to chef.
Dal Tadka: Tasted like pickle daal.
Paneer Tikka masala: It tasted like pickle taste in paneer curry.
Gold Soa - Good but, not worth for the price.
I don’t recommend anyone to...
Read moreThe name is confusing but the food is good. We spent a long weekend in Dahlonega for Six Gap, a bike event and were having trouble finding vegetarian options. We found Dawson Lake and decided to give it a try. Very nice owner and service, food was good but not great....but we've access to excellent Indian food at home. We think with time, and enough people willing to give them a chance they can probably turn this into a very charming establishment despite the confusing property. We enjoyed the outside seating on a nice evening; unfortunately we were the only party and there were just two of us. When we're back in the area, we'll dine here again and we recommend you at least try them once if you like or have wanted...
