Remarkable service that exceeded our expectations! We visited Fajita Grill in Dawsonville on a busy Friday night after being invited to a friends birthday. The restaurant did a great job of accommodating our large group of 22 on a busy Friday night and we were seated outdoors on their patio.
I must give accolades to our server, Christian (Chris) who displayed tremendous patience and hospitality to our very diverse and at times demanding group. If there was any one single reason I would return to this establishment it would be for the service we received. Christian knew the menu, had answers for every question and was amazingly attentive.
Order accuracy was 100% spot on, our first food order was brought out by a young lady who had no idea what the plate contained and simply shouted "I have a number 3". She stood for a moment as none of us had seen any numerical menu reference and had no idea what a #3 was and she walked back toward the door, plate in hand. As she reached the door Christian was coming out with handfuls more and he brought each order to exactly who ordered including special orders like my wife's who ordered her dairy free. Every order was correct and placed in front of the correct person.
My wife enjoyed her Texas Fajita and said it was "ok".
I ordered the Chimichanga with Beef and despite the great service, this is where they lost a star. the taste and texture were mediocre at best. I usually will eat the main entree but half-way through I was done with my plate and did not request a take-home box as I knew I would not warm this up at a future time. My rice and refried beans tasted like they were probably served out of a can brought in bulk supply from a food distributor such as Sysco.
Overall, I would have rated this 3 stars but the SERVICE mandated I give at least 4 stars in...
Read moreThe waitress was fantastic. She was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed or wanted. Her timing was impeccable. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant, relaxing, and calm. We were able to have a conversation without being interrupted by loud voices. We ordered our drinks and appetizers first, and then our food. The food appeared quite appetizing upon its arrival. I had placed an order for a chicken fajita quesadilla, which turned out to be exceptionally delectable. My mother, on the other hand, had ordered beef tacos accompanied by guacamole on the side. However, upon taking a bite, she expressed her dissatisfaction due to the excessive saltiness of the tacos and the guacamole. I provided my mother with a sample of my chicken dish for her to try. She enjoyed it and subsequently drew the attention of a nearby server. My mother inquired if it would be possible for our server to come over. When our server arrived, my mother explained that the beef tacos were excessively salty and had caused a burning sensation on her tongue. Three weeks ago, my mother tripped over a box and struck her chin on the bathtub, causing her to bite down on her tongue. As a result, she now has a hole and a flap of skin that makes it painful to consume certain foods, particularly those with a high salt content. She recently ordered shredded chicken tacos, which she found palatable, but the salt content limited her to only a few bites. To alleviate the burning sensation, she resorted to drinking unsweet iced tea. I would recommend the chicken...
Read moreFormerly a nice go to place for the last 10 years if I felt like Tex/Cali-Mex while in the Dawsonville area, but the last few times has only left me regretting passing by the options that are available closer to 400.
Last night/final straw. I kind of knew something was up when a table of ladies behind me all ordered fajitas. Not one plate came from the back sizzling or steamy, and they joked about being able to touch the iron the food was placed on.
All of our food was served swiftly within minutes, but at room temperature.
Chicken fajita salad, literally 6 sugar cube sized pieces of chicken. The rest was an oily mix of a little bit of lettuce, what seemed to be an entire large onion, a sliver of a pepper, and a large spoonful of sour cream.
Steak fajita salad, about the same portions of protein. The steak was very well done, served at room temperature sitting on top of a premixed of oil, lettuce, onions, peppers, sour cream, and possibly a salsa.
Just rice for a child, probably prepared earlier in the day, maybe even the week. But it was served dried out or microwaved to the point they were pellets.
We just voiced our issues asked for the check, paid, and left.
I’ll stay close to 400 in the future, and actually drive past this place and down to 400 when at events nearby. It’s only 10...
