Jennings Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Dayton

As a former Starbucks manager, I take coffee and service seriously, and I can tell you that Jennings goes above and beyond on both. Beth, Matt, and the rest of the crew take their craft seriously and every cup is poured with expertise and care, and beyond that, I feel recognized and appreciated every time I come in. While our chats may not last more than a few minutes while they make my go to Americano (which they’ve usually already started if they see me pull in), they’re some of the best moments of my day. One morning Beth mentioned that they were receiving a shipment of Sumatran coffee and she saw my face light up (It’s some of the best coffee in the world) and said “You want us to brew some tomorrow?” I just kind of grinned and said “You’d do that?” That’s what you’re getting at Jennings. Jennings is absolutely wonderful. I really enjoy their Mocha and Passion Tea Latte. Their scones, muffins, and chicken salad sandwiches are also well-made and tasty. The atmosphere is laid back and personable. I enjoy taking a book because it’s easy to focus and incredibly comfortable. All the employees are top-notch people. Once, I blew a tire and pulled into their parking lot. The owner came out to give us a hand and gave us a free drink. Anyone who knows me knows three things:

1. I am addicted to coffee.
2. I am a coffee snob.
3. Jennings is my favorite coffee shop.

I love the atmosphere here. It has that small town feel like Luke's Diner from Gilmore Girls where everyone knows you. There's great fresh pastry options and the coffee is excellent! I personally love the nutty and earthy roasts. My 2 favorites are the chocolate hazelnut roast and the whiskey barrel roast. There's so many options on the menu and still room to make your own...
