When i first got there and saw that the parking lot was full, I thought to myself that this must be a great place. I was fooled. Went in and got a seat right away. The patio was decently busy but the inside had lots of open tables. The hostess greated us quickly. Since we had never been there before she gave us the brunch and lunch menus. Looking at 4 menus each was overkill. It seemed like they were really pushing the alcohol. There is a menu on the tables of nothing but alcohol. Then each of the menus for lunch and brunch had an alcohol list on the. The server we had was great. He was the best part of the experience. Seeming how this place was a more modern day alternative pizza place catering to vegetarians and vegans we found the menu intriguing. With an open mind we found several things that sounded good. I ordered the Mr. White and added bacon, jack fruit, red peppers and onion. The 3 extra topping ran $7 on top of a $20 pizza. Okay its mainly an organic pizza. They didn't put the bacon on it. So they gave me a side of bacon to sprinkle on it. What a joke. The other pizza at the table was a Hawaiian minus jalapenos and ham add lamb and a few other toppings. It came out with the ham not lamb. It was taken back and remade as a small. The pizzas were both very greasy or they just really love olive oil. You could see the dough had bubbles in it because for my pizza to have 3 different cheeses on it, it had several spots without cheese. For it to have the word bar in the title, charging $4 for a bud light bottle is more like being at a club then a bar. The atmosphere on the inside was dark. It was not an uplifting feeling at all. The brightest part was the burlap strips on the wall and some of the paintings. Which all of them were for sell. Oh by the way i asked for ice in my water on my second refill. I never got any. Even after the person that was refilling the water came back to bus our table after 35 more minutes. Total for a bruschetta a large pizza with 3 extra topping a small pizza with 4 extra toppings and a bottle of bud light $62. With the small pizza getting compt total dropped $20. Neither pizza had a good flavor. My favorite pizzas from Donatos and Deweys pizza puts this place to shame. I have better experiences doctoring up frozen pizzas in my own kitchen.

Opted for a light meal at Wheat Penny today, and it certainly lived up to expectations! đœïž We began with the Eggplant Fries, which were delightfully light and crispy. Between the marinara and yogurt sauces, the marinara stood out as the superior choice with its robust and rich taste, though my wife liked to mix them. I'd recommend sticking with the marinara for its hearty flavor đ The cocktails were perfect for an afternoon sip. The smoked Old Fashioned, dubbed Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em, was a hit. With Buffalo Trace as the base, the bartender achieved a fantastic balance đ„ For the main course, I chose the lunch combination of pizza and salad, while my wife went for pizza and soup. The Mr. White pizza was wonderfully simple yet satisfying. The arugula salad paired with cauliflower slices was a hit. My wife's Italian sausage with braised mushrooms pizza was also impressive, but the standout was definitely the soup. The White Bean and Kale soup was exceptionally tasty, a must-have for our next visit đđ„đ The experience was rounded off with reasonable prices, outstanding customer service, a welcoming staff, and a great vibe. Looking forward to returning and trying the sea bass for dinner in the near future! #WheatPenny #FoodieHeaven #DayDrinking

A great place to eat in Dayton, Ohio This was recommended as a place to try when I visited Dayton on a business trip. This restaurant is to the north side of I35 and to the west side of Wayne Avenue. There seemed to be a fair amount (about 25) of parking spaces to the north side of the main building. The outside of the restaurant may not look like much but donât let that fool you. It is very nice inside. It has an indoor and outdoor dining area. We decided to eat in the indoor dining area. There is a bar, and an assortment of high tables and low tables. The decor is very cute with light color paint on the walls and carpet on the part of the floor where our table was located. The tables are wooden with plenty of area between them. We were seated quickly. The waitress was very quick, efficient, and pleasant. They have a pretty broad menu with items from appetizers to sandwiches to pizza I ordered an iced tea and a pizza. The food came out quickly and was very good. The pizza crust was delicious and the flavor was very unique. I would recommend this to my fellow travelers in the area searching for a unique, pleasant, and delicious to eat.

I love Wheat Penny but like an unfaithful lover, I rarely show my love. I recommend it to LOTS of people but I haven't been in ages. We really try to make it a family affair. When family members come to town, this is like the main place we take them to to have a sit down dinner. Since our children are now adults, it gets harder and harder to do this. This past Friday my daughter was leaving town to head back to her last year of college. Her gf was in town so we decided to go together alongside our youngest son. We had a blast. The food was delicious (my pictures don't do it any justice). THe drinks were on point. I liked their beer selection as well. Sometimes beer selections can be overwhelming but they had all of the different flavors without too much of a list. My family enjoyed the food. If you want to go to a nice place with a great atmosphere for your family, please go to Wheat Penny. Again, I shall make it a point to visit more often because I do enjoy this place.

I love supporting a local business, and this one is at the top of my list! I have loved every entree I've tried! The service and ambiance are great! My only suggestion is that the owner add a few Mason jars of Wheat Pennies to the bar and/or entrance area. I've experience many, many great meals since my first visit and yesterday I took two friends who'd never been. We each had pizza but neither followed my recommendation for the Tomasso. However, after they'd sampled mine they agreed that the unusual combination works beautifully together! We were delighted to meet Liz, one of the owners, to share our wonderful experience with our server, Marisa! It also afforded me the opportunity to share my idea for displaying some of their Wheat Penny collection! All in all, it was another wonderful visit to Wheat Penny--many more to come!
