China Buffet — Restaurant in Dayton

Visited the restaurant for lunch today, and it was way below what I'm used to having. Where do I start? First let me say that the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The food on the other hand was not acceptable. China Buffet used to have some of the best Chinese food in the Miami valley, not any longer. I will go down the list. Let me start with the hot and sour soup,- which used to be a favorite of mine. Quite frankly there wasn't anything hot or sour about the soup, and there was no tofu in the soup and no bean sprouts. There were a few mushrooms and the broth was tasteless. Secondly, the sushi was acceptable yet they lack any eel sauce, which they used to serve with sushi. The egg rolls in the spring rolls were acceptable however they were very cold and the hot mustard sauce was runny like water - it had no thickness, at least not what I'm accustomed to. The General Tso's chicken was comprised of small hard pieces of chicken which leads me to believe the chicken was not freshly cooked. On the other hand, the pepper steak was pretty good. The chicken and broccoli was also pretty good. I'm sorry I had to post such a poor review, but it's the truth - as I've been coming to this restaurant for years. It has really declined in quality. I don't know what happened but something went wrong. I have been going for years. The place, food and the staff were great. I remember when the place was renovated. Afterwards It was sold I think. The faces were new and the food sucked. I stopped eating there. Years later, I went back and there were new owners, the food was great again. Then they left! Now, it's a lady and sometimes a man, mostly the woman. I went there about 2 months ago. I asked the lady for gloves b'c the covid numbers were going up. The lady became hostile with me! I told her that I was very cordial with her and she became more hostile. I asked her why was she being rude to me, she looked at me and went to the back. I stood there. When she returned. I told her that all I wanted was gloves b'c I am high risk. She stayed rude. I said that I was a long time customer and don't deserve how she was treating me! She ignored me. She hit the cash register opened it, I said, "Oh, you're giving me my money back? Oh no problem, I can go where my money is appreciated, she slams the money on the counter, I grab it and leave! I have never treated her bad or was ever rude to her. I haven't been back since! Smh,...

I called to order two things I've never tried. I asked what vegetables were in it. She couldnt say or understood what I was asking. Then proceeded to say, " You order here before, you order her before!" Not letting me get a word in. I explained again I have never ordered before. She was rushing everything I tried to get out..while talking to another individual in the store. I said yea no I've never called here before goodbye. She calls me back and the hangs up. I call back no answer. Then 10 min later shes calling me saying your coming right for your order? Well excuse me ma'am but how did you know what I wanted to order, because I sure didn't. I wanted to know what was in it before I placed an order. Then decided to get all rude and raise her voice. I will never try and order from this place agian.
