Top of the Market Catering & Events — Attraction in Dayton

We had our wedding at Top of the Market several weeks ago and it was perfect! The venue is unique and beautiful. The staff at Top of the Market is amazing. They go above and beyond and make you feel at easy through out the entire wedding planning process. All staff is very professional. We loved that they do everything in house. (Food, some décor, drinks, tables, chairs, ) You really do not have to worry about a thing. They have several food tastings through out the year, and the food is amazing! We love the deli also! Emily is the wedding director/planner at Top of the Market. We love her! She is very passionate about her job and always has a smile on her face. She was willing to help in anyway and was always there to answer emails and phone calls. Emily made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. She is such an amazing person and it was a pleasure getting to know her. We even had family and guest comment on how amazing the staff was! We really got to enjoy our wedding day, stress free because of you guys. Not worrying about clean up was AMAZING! Thank you Emily and all the staff at Top of the Market. On July 1 we celebrated my daughter’s wedding reception at Top of the Market. I cannot say enough good things about this place and their staff. The venue itself is beautiful, but more importantly the staff is professional, patient, kind, and efficient. Planning a wedding is stressful, but planning from a distance is even more challenging. Emily was always there for me, reassuring me, and taking care of business. She never made me feel like I was a bother and I was calling her a lot! As a matter of fact, somehow she made me feel like I was her only customer, yet I know that was not the case. From the day we booked, until the actual reception, in all of our dealings with the staff they went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. On the night of the reception, the staff checked with me to make sure everything was fine. A special shout out to Nick and Ellie who were so helpful during /after the reception. Reception was ruined by staff incompetence ....The location is beautiful and the atmosphere couldn't be better...however Emily, who is the coordinator we worked with is by far the most unprofessional person I have ever met. A fire alarm went off during our reception and she was not able to properly type in the code and reset the system, we had to listen to the high-pitched annoying sound for nearly 12 min. During the reception Emily was crying, mind you not as much as my wife (the bride). Emily kept telling me (the groom) that she would be sure to compensate me for her monumental mishap. Fast forward two weeks and she would not return our calls, and now she claims she cannot do anything about the fact that she ruined our reception. At a bill of nearly $10,000, all I can advise is to steer clear of this incredibly unprofessional staff. Its too bad too because the venue was everything we wanted. Unfortunately I will be telling all of my friends, family, co-workers and anyone I run into in Dayton how poor the customer...
