Wings Fly — Restaurant in Dayton

Yo! In 2015. I decided to join the Postal Service. I didn't make this decision. My mother made it for me.

Orientation.

A humble class of about 30 people. Everyone bragging about how they don't need an alarm clock to wake up. "I wake up at 5:30-in-the -a.m.! No alarm clock necessary!" I thought to myself, I need about 10 alarm clocks. I've been sleeping-in until noon for the previous four years in my parents basement. No daylight. No alarm clocks. No hot wings.

On the final day of orientation. Everyone took an oath.

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor lack of hot wings stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

Again, I thought to myself. Snow? Okay. Fine. Rain? Whatever. Heat? Okay cool. Lack of hot wings?? Really? How can I take this oath? I signed the paperwork. Decision made.

Years went by. Miles walked. Mailboxes filled. Dogs chased. I chase the dogs, they don't chase me. Yet, still no hot wings.

Until one day, a sign was affixed above the store windows at 960 Patterson Rd. Dayton, OH 45419. I'm a mailman. I know the zip codes.

It read; Wings Fly.

Months. Miles. Mailboxes. Still, no hot wings.

Then one magical day. The owner asked the universal question that everyone on planet Earth can interpret; "Do you want food?"

Patience is truly a virtue.

Trust me. They know what's up. It's in the name. Wings Fly. Tell them the mailman sent ya!

p.s. Sorry, I got distracted. Yeah, the food is really good!! I usually get my usual. Traditional bone-in, hot sauce, tossed in the sauce. Fries included! I crush(crush, meaning eat) the fries first. Then dawg(dawg, meaning eat) on the wings. Okra? Yeah they got that also. Nike: Just Wing It

Then once you get your order. Walk outside. Look to your right and get to steppin' to Patterson Pub. They let you bring your fly Wings Fly inside! It's all good! Walk past Quality Dry Cleaners, think about what you need dry cleaned. Continue walking. Walk past Peach Tree Tattoo, think about your next tat. No walkins! By appointment only! Continue walking. Open the door to Patterson Pub, order a beverage of sorts. Sit down. Chill out. Watch the televisions. Think about your next move! Most importantly! Last but not least! Be nice! Okray? Got it? Good!

I am outta here! It's Sunday. Sunday is for football! Go...

WOW. I have never ordered food from an establishment that cares about their customers this much. I called and ordered over the phone for myself and friends and they repeated everything back to me and made sure it was all correct with the exact modifications I requested. Then when I arrived to pick up my food I saw the owners standing outside enjoying the night and they welcomed me in and really made it feel like home with their incredibly friendly and laid back demeanor. As I went to pay for the food we talked and they showed me each item I ordered to confirm again that it was all exactly what I ordered. Then we spoke for a bit and they let me a try a piece of cheesecake free of charge. I’m terrible with names but thank you for the cheesecake Laith I won’t forget it. The food was all absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced! I got a combo with crispy chicken and catfish nuggets, as well as an order of hushpuppies. Everything was fried to a beautiful golden brown and the hushpuppies especially were satisfyingly crisp and delicious. Good crisp and juicy chicken tenders as well. For anyone in the Belmont/Patterson Park neighborhood you should make this your new chicken joint. Reminds me of JJ’s Fish and Chicken which was previously my favorite before I was blown away by the kindness and taste of Wings Fly. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you for the wonderful food, I wish you all years of success...

This is the second time we have tried the restaurant... They made a booboo and when I called to address it.. They made it right.. right away! Having been in the customer service industry.. They did it the right way! I will continue to frequent not only because they made things right but the food is amazing. The best wings I've ever eaten.. And I have tried traditional wings from everywhere.

If I want wings... There is no other place I'll go now. The coleslaw is to die for!

I would like to try other products but I'm too sold on these wings! They can't be beat!

Yum!! 10 out of 10 I would recommend! So glad we have a wing place near by! And it's a bonus that the food is great! I was a wing zone girl... But they have to move on over... They are...
