My experience today was not a good one...the waitress who was probably one of the owners was really rude...l made a simple suggestion and was rewarded with a rude arrogant comment(when a customer ask if you can make regular sweet tea because not everyone drinks flavored tea, your response shouldnt be laced with arrogance and attitude)the people sitting next to me noticed her nasty response and shook their head at her...l was immediately turned off and lost my appetite...l WILL NOT EAT AT THAT ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN...l am replying to her reply because it won't allow me do it under her reply...You are a liar and we both know it...no one is smearing your name but the truth is the truth and it will NOT change...I did NOT ask you to only make sweet tea LIAR, l suggested that you add it to your drink selection and as far the food goes I did NOT eat a good amount of it l nibble here and there...l took a full plate home because l was not about to throw a plate of food away...instead of being defensive you need to apologize and correct your behavior...try being more professional...courteous and respectful to your customers and their money...we have many options but l chose your establishment that day and also we BOTH KNOW YOU DID NOT GIVE EXCELLENT SERVICE LIAR...this is YOUR...
Read moreWe are new to Daytona Beach (since 2020) and was missing our family's home cooked meals. Then low and behold, we stumbled on a gold mine....Ms. Cynthia at the Soul Food Restaurant on MLK off Orange. Wow, Omgoodness... the food was so amazing and we walked in 15 minutes before closing. Ms. Cynthia is the cook and such a kind, and beautiful person and soul. We were so blessed by her on so many levels. This is the "best meal" we have had in Daytona. And definitely the best soul food I have had (even better than Sylvia's in Harlem, NY in my opinion-no kidding- I am picky). (In last 9 months, we've had to eat out daily due to the 2022's hurricane hurricanes-so I am a self proclaimed food critic, okay?) So it was a treat and a blessing to come across Soul Food. Fyi, we tried fish, hen, mac & cheese, green beans, greens, cabbage, black eye peas, and yams ..10, 10,10,10,10,10,10,10, and 10. We now plan to eat there every Sunday going forward! This is a must do. You will feel right at home and you will feel the love that Ms. Cynthia puts in her food. So glad to have found this place. This will be a must do for all of our out of town visitors. Can't wait to visit the new spot in a...

I completely hate I had to give them a star, unfortunately 1 was the lowest I could give. They have the worst customer service ever. I called to ask a question pertaining to their sides as I do not eat meat. The staff taking the orders over the phone are so rude. I asked if it was meat in the greens, the male staff who would not provide his name said, "man I don't know, I don't cook the food." I told him ill just place an order and find out when I get there. He hung the phone up on me. This is the worst service ever. I wouldn't dare spend a dime with this business. The people answering the phones are not knowledgeable of the product being sold and they need not to work in the business of customer service. The food may have been good, unfortunately I will never know. because the service is horrible. We were about to place an order for 50+ dinners for staff, I will never patron this business. With that being said I took my money elsewhere and the customer service was simply amazing.
WHATEVER YOU DO NOT EAT HERE, SERVICE...
