I took my daughter on her birthday to sushi King. We been going there alot until the renovation closure. Well we figure it is time to revisit that place. As we entered and the host lead us to the booth. We did not see any visible changes from the old way. As soon we sat a humidity and nasty smell hit us. This should be our alarm of what worth is coming. We were move closer to were two tables had customers. Here we smelled food " ok we said". We waited for someone to attend to us. No one came until maybe a long while. He was a nice you man. I tried to chat with. He was friendly. We asked for the order slip. He gave us one without a pen. Another time to wait for him to show up. From the time we came in to the time we left may about 5 to 6 tablets had customers served by two staff members. One of the staff she kept ignoring us even with me raising my arm and calling for her to check on us. Her eyes kept looking at the ground to avoid seeing us or othe customers. The food came. The salad were good. But my wife almost broke her tooth on two small pieces of bone in the steak hibachi. We asked for some sushi. They came and look good. We ate but it was not like before. I used to eat alot at this restaurant but not this time. My daughter didn't like it. My wife didn't like it neither and ask me to pay and leave. My daughter started feeling nauseated and as soon we were outside she vomited on the grass. I started to feel tension in my stomach and a soon as I reached home. I had strong diarrhea. And today stomach stabbing and fatigue and slight fever. I know eating raw fish come with risks but good clean and fresh place with right temperature control you minimize the risk. Anyway I hope the review could change some procedures the implement to be fresh better and safe. As for me and my family never again. We were not enjoying our time or the food or the...
Read moreSushi King is a nice place to visit with family, and friends. Food is better than okay, hot, and fresh.
The rice falls apart when trying to pick up the sushi, dip it in the sauce, and eat.
Sushi King is a large restaurant with plenty of seating. Staff is always nice and friendly, and is always clean.
One Big Problem:
Sushi King's protocol is "All You Can Eat" for $18.99 for adults at night for dinner. Walk in, and staff will greet you, and ask, "Is this your first time?"
Because you need to understand that you can order all that you desire, anything on the menu but you have to finish everything on your plate or be charged .50 cents per item not eaten.
Now don't get me wrong, I agree with this course of action, HOWEVER ~
The staff will request that you fill out another sushi or other food order form sometimes before your first order arrives at your table. The closer it gets to 10pm the more staff rushes you to the point of being rude! Staff say their manager, and owner make them do this.
I have been to Sushi King with family, and with friends on several occasions and each time we as well as other customers were rushed, and made to reorder and like I said, sometimes before your first order arrives at your table. Sometimes on a busy night, it will take up to 1 1/2 hour before your first order arrives, really seriously!
I understand Sushi King is very busy but customers pay almost $20 All You Can Eat, and so with with family, and friends the bill can easily be $100 or more!
I took the time to speak with waitresses, Manager, and Owner of Sushi King. All of them were nice, and explained their side about closing at 10pm.
I pointed out, if you allow customers to come in, you need to allow your customers to eat. I also pointed out Sushi King will get a bad reputation, and suffer for this type of...
Read moreWhy is zero stars not an option? My sisters and I went to Sushi king on 4/15/23. It was a little busy but nothing to crazy. After we got sat we received the wrong drinks, a menu but no pen and only 2 place settings. We put in our first round, waited and received our appetizers. By that time we sent in our second round so it would come out when we were almost done. Finished out appetizers and drinks. We waited and waited and waited. Tables around us were receiving there food but nothing for us. We asked our waiter only to hear “it’s busy tonight, the kitchens backed up” 2 hours and multiple requests later we asked to speak to a manager. In comes Anya. She introduced herself as the manager and the first thing out of her mouth was, “it’s a busy night. Your not the only table” my sister was very nice, didn’t raise her voice, but informed her how long we’d waited and the fact that the table behind us just got there and already had food. The guy from the other table came over and told Anya “we must have gotten there food. We didn’t order any of this” no response. She said she’d find out what’s happening and leaves. 5 minutes later Anya comes over and “informs” my sister that interrupting someone is rude and not how you get good service. We asked for a bill for what we did eat and we’d leave. She ignored us and continued to run her mouth, even going as far as to scream from the other room. We stood up, walked out and will NEVER return. Come to find out Anya is not the manager. We did get to speak to (who I hope) is the real manager. She informed us we could have our meal for free and she would even give us rolls to go.
This used to be our favorite sushi place. If this is the type of people they hire,...
