Checkers — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

I moved away from Taylor for 7 years and recently moved back and I’m highly disappointed in this checkers to say the LEAST. I’m confident in saying 9 times out of 10 when you come here, you’ll be provided terrible service, long waiting times, cold and old food, and drinks that taste HORRIBLE.

Just got back home and I was there for a total of almost 20 minutes for 2 DRINKS, a large coke and a large root beer. I was the first person waiting in line, with others behind me leaving and I should have just left too. I waited for about 10 minutes and there was a young man grabbing what looked like buns and I figured he was the only one working, so I waited. When he got back inside I realized he wasn’t alone and there were AT LEAST 4 people working at that time. Nobody said anything through the speaker until I said “I’m about to just leave” then I heard a quiet “can I help you?” Once I ordered my drinks I had to wait around another 5 minutes just to pay and receive my drinks. I got home and my root beer has a bitter taste and almost no syrup in it.

I wish I could give this place negative to no stars! I have never had such unpleasant, rude service. I’ve been in the food industry for years, so when it comes to workers I always show my appreciation, please thank you etc.. they say nothing I came through the drive through last night 11/25/2024 around 1030 at night and thanked the lady multiple times never a your welcome, have a good day her expressions were completely rude. Prior to this I had went a week before to try and tried to get a shake.. I sat at the intercom for 6-8 minutes. There was NO LINE, NO BODY IN FRONT OF ME yet I Looked at the lady looking at me, I beeped never said anything I went to the window and I asked if they were open, or if the mic was working she said ‘mhm’ I said ‘oh I’ve been sitting there for 5 minutes’ she said ‘no you haven’t’ Continually shaking her head no and told me to go back around, where she did the same thing again… These are not the only 2 times I’ve had rude service here. EVERYTIME!!! I don’t know who’s hiring here, but they need all new staff!!! I will never be back at...

Due to a very late night craving, my fiancee took a 3am trip to find a burger to suit my needs. After three other burger places were either closed or "serving breakfast" we settled on Checkers. Having already perused the menu and picked out our post Midnight feast, he arrived at the speaker at exactly 3:10am. This is a 3am on a Saturday night we speak of here. According to both google AND the website this particular place is open to 4am. So he gets to the Speaker, prepared to give our orders when the voice on the other end tells us that they are closed. CLOSED. At 3:10 in the morning, a solid 50 minutes before their website said they closed. What the eff?? Needless to say, we were quite miffed and he even informed them that their hours said they were open until 4am. Again the voice repeated that they were closed. We shall be informing management in the morning, like when most sane people are awake, but I wanted to leave this review, and warning here for future late night hangry people.
