4-D’s Coney Island — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

Walked in and waitress said hello but didn't tell us to wait to be seated or find our own seat. After a few minutes we were told to take a seat anywhere. There was one booth open but the table was not cleared. Had to sit at a table near the door. Omelette was thinned out with water or milk. Potatoes were burned. It took the better part of 20 minutes to get our food. Noticed other peoples orders coming an item at a time, the hamburger then several minutes later the fries a skillet breakfast then later the toast. Almost a half hour before anyone asked me if I wanted more coffee. Oh ya, I ordered an omelette without green peppers and onion but still ended up with some green pepper...

Terrible wait staff! Asked for lemons with water and the waitress decided to bring one slice when my food was done. I guess the walk would have been too long to make two trips. The price for 4 sandwiches with fries cost $60. I asked the waitress to break it down for me math wise and her response was they itemize each order meaning no combos. I said that was pretty pricey and her response was everything is now a days. I feel bad for the elderly customers that seem to frequent this place as they are getting ripped off tremendously. They should be ashamed of themselves running a place like this. I will not return and I will tell everyone I know not to give them...

There has been a restaurant at this location for as long as I can remember - and I'm pretty old, lol - but none of the incarnations come as close to the original Palace as 4-D's. The place is clean and bright, the service was great, and my salad was fresh and delicious. The only drawback for me, and it was a minor one, was walking out of there smelling like "kitchen exhaust," or whatever you would call it. To be fair, I was seated close to the kitchen, so this may not be an issue elsewhere in the place. That said, it doesn't merit knocking one star off of my review. I will definitely be back and I hope others in the area will give...
