Lunch Box Dearborn Heights — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

I ordered online from Doordash. When I received my order, there was items missing and my items were shorted. When I called the restaurant to inform them, I was told to "take it up with Doordash". The owner was defensive and combative, insisting I was incorrect about only having one chicken tender in a kids meal and missing AuJuis for my French Dip, stating he packed it himself. Well why would I call and LIE and not even ask for a refund, but just to notify the establishment? Any way, no need to order here again. Plenty of other burger joints in town.

UPDATE: Within 5 minutes of posting this review the owner called asking if I had time to talk. I explained to him how there was a mistake with my order, and the sole reason for my call was to make the restaurant aware of it. I'm not sure how he can accuse a Doordash driver of going into my stapled shut bag, and digging through my takeout containers to steal a chicken tender, then re-stapling?? said bag all during a 5 minute drive from the restaurant to my house. This was our third time ordering from the lunchbox and all 3 times were great! The Red Reuben is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. Last time I asked if I could just have a plain chicken breast (we always get something for our cat when we eat out) and I had mentioned it was for my cat and when we picked it up they had said that they cut it up for her which is just the cutest thing. This was the second time they did this for us and this time it came with a cute little drawing of a kitty, we loved that so much! We've been ordering her food for years from many different restaurants and this is the first restaurant that has ever cut it up for her and I just thought that they went above and beyond for service because I would have been happy with just a chicken breast but the fact that they took the time to cut it up into small pieces for her was just amazing! The lunch box is very nice inside, and the staff has always been very pleasant when I've been in there, but in the course of my 3 visits there over the past month and a half, my experience has gotten steadily worse. The first time I had a pretty good patty melt, and the potato soup was ok, but we ordered a buffalo cheese stick appetizer that would have been really good, except that it was barely lukewarm when they served it to us. The second time I had a pretty good wrap and some good onion rings, but I wasn't crazy about the stuffed pepper soup, and again - it was barely warm. This last visit I had the Mr. Spicy signature sandwich, and it was just ok - think frozen chicken breast patty on a cafeteria bun with absolutely nothing spicy about it. The real kicker was the 5 onion rings of average size that I received for $4 - 80 cents per ring. And a couple of them were still doughy on the inside. Three strikes...
