I remember coming here a couple of months ago I came almost an hour before they were about to close, everything was fine. The food was gross. Cold, and flavorless, the salad looked like it was sitting out for a couple of hours, but I'm not one to complain. Anyways, I gave the waitress a cash tip, and still filled it out on my receipt slip when I paid with my card. Not only did she take the cash tip, she took the same amount off my card and basically robbed me. I tipped her and let her know as soon as she brought my receipt so she willingly went and still put in the tip amount to be taken off my card. I looked at her and told her, that's your tip. I always tip around 25%. As soon as I seen the transaction on my account I called La Pita to notify them of this minor situation, they also have surveillance so it would have been easy to spot out this incident. I called and asked to speak to a manger THREE times, on THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. The third time, they gave me a time frame to call and assured me someone would speak to me. No one ever did, and I lost about $13 on a bill of $55. She took a tip of about $25. I just hope the restaurant is able to read this and prevent situations like this in the future. I don't care about the money anymore, but it just wasn't right, and the managers didn't care. :) Keep an eye on your bank accounts and use cash only! Definitely learned from this. I very rarely post bad reviews or reviews at all unless I'm extremely satisfied, this place is not worth the time or cost. Might consider coming back if they...
Read moreWe visited on 12/13/19 at 630 pm. We had a reservation for 10. The decor is very nice. Initially our waitress was very polite and attentive. However once orders were placed the good service began to decline. Our entrees were not brought out at same time. In fact 3 of the 10 orders placed came out after everyone else started to eat. One order of chicken tenders came out after everyone had already eaten. When guest requested to have it cancelled they refused and offered no apologies. The waitress snapped, “ I’m sorry but they had to cook it!” The Shwarmas were rock hard an have tasted better at cheaper restaurants. I asked for garlic herb potatoes and they brought mixed vegetables instead. My mother in law requested ranch dressing and the waitress brought out ketchup ( bottle empty) my mother in law was a bit agitated because 1) she is 80 and was experiencing pain, 2) she didn’t get her ranch 3) she has dementia and really at times doesn’t know any better. The waitress was very rude and condescending towards my mother in law. I wanted to pull her aside and tell her how unprofessional she was coming from the perspective of a geriatric nurse but my party asked that I refrain. After that she was no longer attentive and the bus boy ended up pretty much taking care of our table more than our waitress did. Based on this alone she did not deserve the forced 18 percent gratuity....
Read moreWorth the drive from ANYWHERE in metro Detroit. Authentic, delicious meals at fair prices. The consistency at La Pita is truly remarkable. I’ve been eating here for decades (going back to their former location across the parking lot) and have NEVER had a meal that was less than outstanding! I really don’t know how they do it but it really is a tribute to how well this restaurant is run! I usually carry out but the dine in option is worth it and is a must if you’ve never eaten here. The decor is so cool and I love the semi private booths as well as the bigger booths for lager parties. The bigger booths are super nice if you have a larger party. They’re really comfortable and off on their own providing a more private setting to enjoy your meal and conversation. My favorite it the chicken tawook sandwich with extra pickles….dip that in garlic and you will experience the deliciousness of a Dearborn gem!! Grape leaves are also outstanding! Everything I’ve tried on the menu is excellent actually! The Mango Smoothie is mmmwah!! I literally cannot get enough of it! La Pita has been doing smoothies since well before smoothies were cool! Five very enthusiastic and well...
