Lebon Sweets — Restaurant in Dearborn

This is a late review, but I wanted to at least post this because I think it is important for the manager to know. I had been going to this location since 2020, and really enjoyed the sweets and employees. I ended up going to pick up baklava on July 4 for my parents because my dad and mom both love it from this store. This time around, however, I was being serviced by a young lady who seemed to be annoyed with me. I said three times I wanted a half tray of fingers, and the rest filled with regular baklava. I'm not sure if she couldn't hear me or if she just wanted to do her own thing because she kept filling the box with one small tray one at a time. By the time I had three slots left, she said in a very snarky way, "so what else you want?" Honestly, this was the first time anyone at that store talked to me that way, and it was so disappointing I told my parents if they want baklava, they will have to get it themselves because it makes no sense to spend anywhere from $40 to $75 multiple times a year just to have someone do that to you. I wouldn't have written a review if I wasn't concerned and I don't want anything. I just want the staff...

Kanafa at its best. They have few variations of the same milk cheese sweet, too heavy. At least a million calories. Lol but they are so delicious. They are fresh, they serve it hot or cold. They are sweet version of cheese layered with different things like pista, cookie crumbles, etc. served with some syrup. They could be made like a sandwich with that specialty bread. Makes it less sweat. Makes it yummier.

They have the Lebanon version and palatine version

This place is so humble, sits in the middle of a small strip mall. Kept super clean. This right across from the giant Shatila bakery. But so much better. The staff is super sweet, ;) friendly and inviting. She explained us what each one is and how it's different.

There are stools to sit but it's mostly like a take out kind of place.

It gets sticky and messy, so Don't think about eating it in the car and wipe with a napkin. Lol.

Hands down the best Knefe (kunafeh) in Dearborn and likely the entire United States. There are many styles of this dish and much debate in which school or style has the best, and this is the monarch of Lebanese style kunafeh within thousands of miles’ radius. Absolutely must try. Way better than the competition it decidedly leaves in the dust. Also it’s available starting 7am for those of us early risers who need to get a bite before work.

Also the croissants are very special Lebanese French fusion, and I especially recommend the zaatar and cheese: if you can find them — these sell out quick.

Service is courteous and helpful. And they also can give you frozen kunafeh trays if you are traveling long distances with them and want to enjoy them with friends a few states away. I hear they ship to. Make no mistake: it’s a mistake not to try this humble looking but flavor packing joint...
