I will never patronize this place again. I will never recommend Yasmeen Bakery to anyone in my circle. I use to come to Yasmeen bakery often until I moved to Rochester Hills. I use to order not only for myself but also large orders for corporate parties few years back. While on an errand in Dearborn, I decided to stop by a few old stomping grounds that I once enjoyed in Dearborn. I chose to have a quick fast food lunch at Yasmeen Bakery. I entered, respectfully pulled a number because there were a few other guest present. I was next in line, only to be ignored and not even acknowledged of my presence. Three mens who came after me were serviced. Tan Man who was behind the counter saw me, knew I was there before the other two gentlemen he serviced. I assume they were friends or aquaintence he knew because they were having a grand conversation. The lady behind the counter with the bang and bob hair knew I was there first. The other server behind the counter, who's balding, went straight to the other couple who was 3rd behind me. Between Tan Man and the lady, someone should have acknowledged my presence at least, apologized and said that they would get to me immediately or summoned another worker to service me since I was skipped TWICE!!! I could have intervened and interrupted the other guests and demand that I be serviced because I came before them but I'm more gracious than you lack of customer service to interrupt another guest experience. I feel my complexion was the reason why other fair hue guess were serviced first. I did not come in looking like a hobo or bum. I'm wearing a rolex watch, decent attire and accessories, and I am a hijabi. The hijabi cashier is always gracious and have wonderful customer service etiquette. The back end need to take lessons on customer service and just mannerism. When guest come in....."hello"....." let me know when you're ready"....." is there anything that appetite you"......I received nothing while in line. Tan Man and Bang hair style lady saw me when I entered and waited in line. I was the only guess after the other lady who was talkative for a moment , than follower the other 4 guest. I'm disgusted at the lack of customer service and lack of any decent etiquette. Even if Tan Man knew the other two males.....you saw me...in busines etiquette, you say to them , let me service this lady and I'll get to you guys. Or. Have the decency to summoned another server for me. I'm disgusted at the blatant rudeness. I'll never come to Yasmeen again!!!!!! I guess come along with cheap food is cheap to non good service. I'll stick to my usually upper...
Read moreWe’ve been coming here for over 20 years ( I think that long)-During my pregnancy with my youngest son, (now 25 yrs old)I craved ME food- We’d go to Cedar to eat and then pop into Yasmeen- We usually went once a month- but hadn’t been since Covid lockdown- So today we finally made the time to go and we’re looking forward to it-
I always remembered the people being polite and helpful, but today the young man, youngest one in the hot food area, serving us couldn’t have been more unfriendly- He seemed so annoyed during the ordering process, with both my husband and I- I asked for cheese on the meat bread and his annoyed look made me think I made an error in requesting it -
then I requested a piece of knafeh which I may have pronounced incorrectly or pointed at the wrong item👵🏻🫣He again seemed irritated and even looked away like he was no longer listening- Instead of explaining the difference of Knafeh and ospmalieh - he packaged the osmalieh- So I stopped ordering any additional items-
The young ladies at the register were polite - I was surprised by the young man’s attitude and how a visit we were looking forward to was disappointing- Left a bad taste and didn’t feel...
Read moreI live in Cincinnati and drive to Dearborn about once a month and ALWAYS stop at New Yasmeen Bakery to bring treats back home to family and friends and coworkers. If you're vegan or vegetarian, you're in luck because their deli has many healthy options to choose from. Of course the hummus! But they also have a number of other cold dishes prepared that are great to take home and travel well in a cooler. If you're looking for something more immediate (I always get something to eat in the car) they have what they call "bites" which are small items, usually with a dough/bread base and topped with different options like harissa or tomatoes or minced meat with onions. They are all really delicious. Saturday mornings are always busy so you just have to be patient and go with the flow, because it's worth it. Their baked sweet (cookies and cakes) are also exceptionally good from their chocolate pastries to cookies to fruit tarts. I haven't had one yet that I didn't like. And finally, the fresh bread that gets delivered each morning is a real treat and very affordable. Can't say enough about...
