Lengthy read but to the point
The Decatur food hub has a very cool concept of self-serving by ordering and scanning a QR code at a kiosk, and once you order is ready, you go to the appointed locker to grab your meal. Here are the negatives.
#1 those who work there just walk around sparingly with no interaction with the customers, which is probably the point because it's a very "do it yourself " type of environment. But it's extremely confusing for first time customers, there should be at least one person at the front present to help those who have never been there understand how to order, or how to pick up.
#2 there are several vendors that work out of the location, so I can't leave a negative review for all of the restaurants. I specifically ordered from PAIGE'S BISTRO after seeing their awesome advertisement on Instagram. Yes I am one of those, I will see an awesome post on social media and go and check it out to see if they live up to the hype.
#3 I ordered early around 11:50 a.m. so that I would have ample Time to go and retrieve my order, eat, and return to work by 1:00 p.m. for my order to get ready. I had to threaten to cancel the order and demand a refund just for one of the employees to finally pay enough attention to go and check on it.
#4 I ordered the "get'cha life" fries with the fish nuggets. The food was hot, but basic, it was definitely not worth an hour wait, unfriendly staff, and dealing with a confusing experience. Honestly, I probably will not be back. I will try the food hub again but maybe with a different vendor now that I have a better understanding of how the order and...
Read moreRead moreI rarely leave reviews but this here place deserves 1 forreal! 1st of the all the food is SO good - I got fried chicken which they ran out of when I ordered they called me to see was I willing to wait until they made more I was and I’m happy I did! Everything I had (rice and peas steamed cabbage) including the fried chicken was delicious, they customized my order the way I asked and even gave me a free beef Pattie for waiting - the customer service and generosity was top notch. I also got a pineapple ginger drink that was good and refreshing as well and if you like oxtails J&J is the place to go. I grew up in a family and an area predominately populated by people from the Caribbean ….. I know good Jamaican food when I taste it and this IS IT. My only regret is not trying the Mac and cheese but I’ll be back. I’ve tried a lot of different spots in ATL while I was in town that get a lot of hype and aren’t actually good at all out of all of the places I went I wish this was my 1 and only stop ….. I would have literally ate here each day. I can’t wait until they get their own location - I didn’t care for the hub situation which is why I gave 3 stars for atmosphere otherwise it’s a nice spot, clean and organized the parking lot is small and gets a lot of traffic. Overall it’s an 11 out of 10. Go there!!!! You won’t regret it - I...
Absolutely WORST experience ever, my first time visiting and will never come back. The front desk person clearly had zero customer service skills and had an entire attitude, I walked in…placed an order at the kiosk and didn’t receive a receipt , decided to use the bathroom then speak to the front desk person. There was no tissue or paper towels in the bathroom so I informed the front desk person who seemed bothered that I even tried talking to him. Once he got the supplies to replenish I attempted to ask him about the receipt as he walked by to which he rudely dismissed me because he was on the phone. Once he came out and addressed the receipt issue he said he’d work on getting it resolved, went back to the front desk and didn’t come back out. I eventually went to the front desk to ask about it, I stood there as he ignored me while on his laptop…I finally ask about the receipt to which he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about. I finally broke down and told him how terrible his attitude was and for that I would never come back. As a first time visitor this isn’t the type of experience you expect to have. You’re better off going to an actual restaurant then dealing with Mr. Chip on...
