I usually don’t write reviews, but my visit to this place was very unpleasant. In the beginning, everything was going well. Until our checks came in. We were a bit confused as to why a pitcher of margarita was $64. Well that wasn’t the problem. The problem here was when asked why we were getting charged $64 for a pitcher if the menu clearly only has 2 prices. And no where does it say it’s $64. Matter of fact, the highest price on that menu says about $35 bucks. So when asked by the server, if we wanted the big pitcher, we automatically thought the highest price on the menu. When we confronted about this, she said that the computer has a different price for the big pitchers. We pointed out that the menu was lacking that information and nowhere were we told that we would be charged a different price. She called what seemed to be the manager. He was very rude and in no way tried to fix the situation, as it is a lack of communication problem between the menu and the clients. He said “what can I do, y’all already consumed the alcohol.” And kept on arguing and arguing. He then brought another man, whom I’m guessing is the owner. Again very rude, when confronted about the lack of information. One of the girls was told by the men that he was sorry we were on a budget. That seems very unprofessional from a manager/owner. Again, that wasn’t the problem. It’s the lack of communication in the menu. The owner said he would “try to” fix the problem by discounting some from the pitcher and taking away the gratatuity from our server. When we received the check not one cent was taken from the pitcher, and only the gratatuity was taken off. This wasn’t even the servers fault. It’s the establishment’s fault for giving false information on their menu’s. They washed their hands by just simply taking away her tip. Which seems very unfair because it’s not even her fault. This speaks volumes. If they treat their staff like this, what can we expect as clients. At the end of the day. We still tipped her, and nothing was resolved. Not even a “we will work on fixing our menus” No, we weren’t in a budget. No, we weren’t asking for free food. We were simply asking to communicate better next time and make all information clear on their menus without any hidden stuff. The attitude of these men was simply disgusting. No where have I ever been treated like this. It’s very frustrating...
Read moreI won’t be coming back here. The aesthetic of the place is beautiful and the decorations and murals are beautiful, but it’s about the equivalent of having a nice body and paint job on your car with the motor, engine and transmission going out. We get there and only the bartender says hi. All the racist old while people stare at you as you walk in and after standing there at a stand confused for a moment you hear a server shout out “you can seat yourself”. We chose to sit on the patio. The first table we chose had ants crawling all over it so we chose the one beside it even though it had trash on it and hadn’t been wiped down. A server never came to us so my bf went inside to ask for a menu, finally a server came out with a menu and water. We had to pay $3 for salsa and chips which kinda sucks bc most restaurants in the area provide it for free. I asked if I could substitute a salsa for a cheese dip and the server looked at me like I was asking for the most. I paid $5 for a tiny bowl of cheese dip which was also disappointing. I ordered the chicken tacos which were $4 a taco. They came out on a small, raw flower tortilla with a couple pieces of unseasoned grilled chicken, some shreds of lettuce and no cheese like it said it would have. They piled on the rice on the sides to make the plate look full. The rice was green, idk why, no seasoning. There were also no seasoning or salt or pepper on the tables. My bf ordered the fish flaurus for $13 and made him sick after a couple bites. I tried it and couldn’t even swallow the bite I had of it and spit it out. It seemed like the fish was under cooked and the grease they used was old and/or not hot enough and absorbed so much in the roll it was soggy. Idk what the white sauce on it was but it didn’t help it. I did get it taken off the ticket. After the server had brought us the food he never came to check on how our food was, he never asked us for beverages at the beginning either, we had to ask, honestly we probably saw him twice through the whole experience. I also had to ask another tables server to get to-go boxes for us. Our server then came outside and brought us the ticket that we never asked for. I guess to get us out of there since we complained about plate to turn the table, who knows. I paid $26 for a disappointing date night. We won’t...
Read moreI trusted my Sunday Funday with an unfamiliar spot and I was disappointed.
If you follow my posts you know that I love Mexican food and always down to try new spot. The service was distinctly different for us as opposed to others. There was a lack of concern and care to our needs from water to an umbrella. Read on….
Our sever Eliza was not as attentive as I noticed the other severs being and in all honesty it hurt my feelings. Why you ask? Being the only people of color in the restaurant, I watched other customers of another hue get greeted with a warm welcome, they were asked if they wanted their umbrella up and they also ALL received pitchers of water for their table. The table next to us came after us and received ALL of their stuff in a timely fashion and got great attention. She was not rude per se, but we received the basic bare minimum.
Now you may read this and think I am being overly sensitive but as a woman of color who has lived all over, dine in a variety of places, I know when I am getting the bare minimum vs what others are getting. The quickest part of our service was her dropping off the check and removing a few dishes from the table.
Let’s get into the food. I got the fish tostadas and they were pretty tasty. The fish was a little dry but not that bad. The rice was very bland. Def don’t recommend. Hubby got the chicken quesadillas and he shared that they were pretty good.
Do I recommend this place. Nope. Don’t do it. There are plenty other great Mexican spots where you get good food...
